She didn’t make any particular missteps. She crushed it in the debate, more mixed in other interviews/town halls where her rather “average” intellect was revealed. But still ludicrous to compare to Trumps drivel.

I don’t think it was so much about that, as the inescapable reality that Biden was very underwater in popularity at the end. Even a lot of liberals are probably tired of hearing Biden speak (almost as bad as hearing Trump speak). The Republicans were very successful tying inflation to Biden, even though it’s sort of ludicrous to think Trump will “fix” inflation - which is now largely in the rear view. It’s actually far more likely Trump will spur new inflation, if not worse inflation depending on the scope of his trade war. I think people are going to have buyers remorse very quickly once chaos hits.

Harris carried all of her baggage from when she ran in the first place. Her liberal was hung out for all to see. She was a terrible candidate. Always has been but it was all the left had. Biden had become a national joke.. quite literally. Strange we don’t see the “dark Biden” meme floating in this board anymore..
Kamala had zero decent policies to truly run on. She was a terrible candidate and that is why she lost.
So now the question is.. who do both parties run I. 4 years?
JDVance ? Desantis? who for the Dems?

I would put the blame on Harris, she should have gone to Pelosi and Schumer a couple of years ago and told them to encourage Biden not to run. Have a regular Democratic primary where Harris could have ran against other candidates. Let the process work like it was supposed to work.

But she didn't stand out either. I don't think any D was going to win this race. And Jesus. If Haley had been the nominee, we're looking at Reagan '84 numbers . . . or better. FWIW, I think he'll inject ether into the system while he's in office, so I actually see a bit of a sugar-high economy during most if not all his term. So, invest wisely, because the bomb will be dropped on whoever follows him.

How do you know that she - and others - didn't? Kind of hard to affix blame with no hard evidence.

Well, it didn't happen did it? I read an article that Pelosi had to cover for Biden after a Democratic House caucus meeting in 2021. She knew, or should have known then.

Agree with some of that. Not sure about the "ether". Seems like it will be more like gasoline.

Clearly some of the markets will initially like his promise of less regulation, lower taxes, lower interest rates, etc, (my financial stocks are soaring today) but how long will it last when the impact of tariffs, mass deportation of cheap workers, changing healthcare, increasing deficits (debt ceiling battles), etc, hit? The only real hope is that much of what he has campaigned on is not implemented which was the case last time.

As for Haley, not sure I buy Reaganesque #s unless maybe she is running against another woman. I dont see her ever getting the R nomination and the country is a long way from electing a woman Prez. The "bro" culture seems real to me. Ive had more than one former coworker say that they would never vote for a woman.

As for the OP, "moral character" was clearly not a factor in this election, but that may just be do to the candidate.

But that's not Harris. Sure, the DNC played it very poorly. In other news, water is wet.

The latter part is very true. In reality, she's to the right of Trump, but stupid people gonna stupid.

If moral character is an important matter in deciding which potus candidate one should cast their vote, I would say it was no longer an important matter when JFK ran. It definitely wasn’t important when Willy J Clinton tan. Then there was LBJ …. maybe the worst of all.

Biden committed to being a transition potus and then got high on the good life, him and his whole team, didn't want to give up the benefits. Biden, and his family/team, screwed the american people but the foreplay started long ago when he chose the dei candidate instead of the best candidate. she is a lousy politician that benefitted from being black and female.
