Based on what had been posted about the case the law is a moot point.
They missed a pregnant septic woman.
Pregnancies have little effect on how you treat sepsis (certain antibiotics aren’t used but there are numerous other choices). In fact a pregnant woman typically is treated more aggressively in the case of possible infection to avoid sepsis because it’s a risk to both mother and fetus.

That’s based on 25 plus years of doing ER and IM.

IMHO the excuse of delay of care to assess fetal status is BS, that’s done simultaneously and takes literally 10-15 seconds to do a fast scan (US).
If the treating doctor is trying to use the law as some shield he’s a quack and would be destroyed on the stand.
Not to mention the fool that discharged her the visit before.
Infections in the pregnant carries a higher index of suspicion to investigate and treat aggressively.

All of this is based on what the article says.
They even say “may have delayed her care”, well that’s BS she needed the care before she got there the third time. Sounds like she was in bad shape on the third admission to the ER and that point the horse has left the barn.

I am not sure that the Latin Times is a reliable newspaper. I read another article that said that when the dying girl went to the emergency room for the final time, an obstetrician would not let the girl be taken to intensive care until 2 fetal heartbeat tests were taken, and there was a 2-hour delay before she was taken to intensive care.

For now. It missed by 2-3 points and those numbers aren't going down. It will be back, written better and with a long list of disasters due to the current ban. It's inevitable, whether in 2 years or 4. Same with Pot.

    Enjoy the sugar high.

Please don't stay. It's pretty easy to leave .... but not quite as easy as entering if you are an illegal.

Not happy about Amendment 4 not passing. 6 weeks is just ridiculous. I'm hopeful that the 57% that voted for it make their voices heard and hopefully resolved in 2026.

Certainly you mean the young woman and the baby. There are two lives there who deserved to live.
