I'd take Tulsi Gabbard over Trump in a heartbeat. The problem is anybody who might actually be good at the job, who gets it, is marginalized and ridiculed. The second Gabbard chose country over party, she was persona non grata. I know, I know, Liz Cheney did it too, but I don't for one minute trust her motives. The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.
That's NC. Certainly sounds legit for NC--and I'll defer to you there, as I'm not plugged in to NC politics--but it's doesn't seem to apply to the rest of the nation big pic. House and Senate would not have followed Trump if that were the case. Nor would he have attained a popular vote majority, as he's never been THAT popular. Still isn't. He just earned enough ppl's trust, because of the alternative. That's called... RE...JECTION!
We'll have one in due course. Nikki Haley came closer and lasted longer than any other candy in the primary pool. It just wasn't time--and not bc America isn't ready for a woman POTUS--but bc there were over arching unsettled issues that remained outstanding (Barry/Biden/Est'mt v Trump/MAGA). Trump is also going to be the last boomer POTUS. No one really knows what the future is going to look like, but seeing as how women have long eclipsed men on university campii throughout the fruited plain (subtle hat tip to the late, great Rush Linbaugh), I think it's a pretty safe bet that women will feature quite prominently in the post boomer era.
Of course women will. City is clinging to the rhetoric cnn feeds him. He can’t look in the mirror and understand how bad the democrats are for America. The polls were 70% said country on the wrong track! So they send in the camel for more of the same! It’s just too much !!
The senate was a huge climb for the democrats defending so many seats. House looks pretty stable, in fact the pubs may only have a 1 seat majority. I think the surprising part was how little the election changed things, not how much they did change things.
Note above. Trump is an unusual candidate and won. The senate was a tough climb due to the seats that were up and Manchin's retirement. House looks like a pickup for dems just not a flip. There was no GOP mandate, just a Trump wave. Its not about "bad for America".. Its that lots of Americans love them some Trump. And cool it on the personal attacks.
Lol! A huge climb bc.. " ...the Democrats *DEFENDING* so many seats..." As if incumbents don't enjoy a serious built in advantage. Nope. Sorry... incumbent POTUS, incumbent seats, is a slam dunk hold... Unless you suck out loud. Then a reset is in order. Which is what we got last night.
Where is the personal attack? I said you can’t look in the mirror. Big deal. Most people cannot. I said you bring CNN talking points here. Most people parrot their points from the media. It’s not personal. You’re just upset. No worries man, glad you’re sticking around. Wasn’t sure some of you would come out to play today.
My statement wasnt a "Hot Take". 23 of 33 seats up were Dems. C'mon... you know better than the 'so much love for Trump' business. Yall have been on here for the better part of a decade lambasting him, callung out his bad haur, orange skin, obesity, and this go around, mocking his diminished mental acuity, criminal charges, weak rally showings... you know the MAGA hats was rendered fringe... his popularity such as it is, was always limited to a smallish number of inordinately committed zealots.. His political success OTOH, represents a resonating of the policies and ideology he represents (which is categorically NOT the fascist/ racist/ misogynistic bullshit yall have always tried to paint it as)--a call for a return to tried and true principles, and a rejection of high browed elitist progressive ideology.
Not upset. I have remained very cordial on this board and last night there were unmoderated personal attacks flying around regularly. I'm hoping that cools down and you guys (plural) debate vs name call.
We will just have to disagree on that point. Policy isnt a big deal for Trump support. People dont love the idea of Tariffs etc. They do love sticking it to the "elitist progressives" though so I'll agree on that. Looking forward to my 1%er breaks any day now! I am all in.
So far IMHO, pubs have not been ugly. If Kamala would have won, no chance the libbies here would be so kind.
Be that as it may, if Biden had bequeathed a record worth boasting and running on rather than one that needed to be obscured and run from, we'd be talking coattails, not how little radioactive fallout there was.
