Theyve been better programs as of the kast decade and a half and have been soending tgat cash the entire time. We are a bit late to tge party for whatever readon and it seems the checks are scarce atm. Thatll hurt a year or two down the road just as it did Saturday. Weve seen this movie before. The big boys keep buying even if they are moving on. A&M bought a history class then psid 75 mil to get rid od their crappy coach.
We had a 5 star on the bench. He started playing when our 5 star transfer got injured. Then our 5 star bench player got injured. So people are mad that CBN didn't have a 3rd 5 star QB on the roster after 2 seasons??? I mean, there's a lot to criticize with CBN, but this one seems to be a bit of a stretch...
Who's mad? Don't put words in my mouth. I'm just pointing out the flawed thinking that programs can't have quality QB depth because of the portal and NIL. A lot of programs UF are trying to compete with do.
Not sure how this seems such a mystery. Napier has already displayed a propensity to make highly questionable choices elsewhere - from play calling, to coaching positions, to clock management - that then gave less than stellar results. Yet you somehow don't think it possible that his choice of backup to the backup QB could not have been made for less than rock solid reasons? People look at the two of them and almost immediately raised questions about the choice. We can assume the choice was made for the 'right' reasons. Or we can wonder if this is just another example of Billy being Billy. Not like he would be the first Florida head coach to choose wrongly in this matter... Me? I'm not sure which would be better, but lack of certainty there does not stop me from questioning how the decision was made given who we know made it.
I didn't say YOU were mad, I said "people" (so don't put words in MY mouth ). You aren't the only one that has mentioned apparent lack of 3rd string QB depth. But to the point, we really don't know how good/bad Warner is. Not sure any of the other 3rd stringers on the teams that you mentioned would have come in and showed out given the circumstances that Warner got thrown into. So like I said, it just seems very low on the list of things to knock coach CBN for.
We have a 4 star in Millen. For whatever reason he didn't play. Stars don't necessarily make the QB. Give me a 3-star Kyle Trask any day over DJ Uiagelele and Brock Vandergriff, 5-Star whiffs.
It's true we really don't know how good/bad Warner is - but last Saturday we got a preview of both his foot speed and ball velocity and they appear significantly slower than any QB I've seen us play this year except maybe Samford's (I don't remember that QB.) Hopefully his pre-snap reads, progressions and decision making are what gives him/us a chance, because the two former attributes will definitely make defending us easier. Either way, he's a Gator, made a choice to walkon and I'm pulling like hell for him.
Really? Hmmm. Interesting. Here's his scouting report. Seems who failed him has been our S&C coaches. But like so many scores of players, most who become Gators regress over time. I can count on 2 hands the number of players since Meyer who progressed over their time at Florida. A large, wide-hipped body that’s well over 350 pounds. Surprisingly light on his feet given build and composition. Often times one of the first to pounce off the snap and initiate contact. Quick hands and swim move allow him to get past blockers and make plays in the backfield. Eats blocks and is effective at times against double teams. Will however need to drop some bad weight and lean out in college which should happen once he's working with a strength coach. Also needs to improve overall pad level. Has the looks of the ideal nose tackle for 3-4 defense that should be able to develop into a multi-year contributor for a Power 5 program.
he has no year to save. He already redshirted. Whether he plays or not this year counts as a year of his eligibility.
he cannot redshirt…he redshirted his first year at Colorado state. from UF: 2021 at Nevada: Saw action in two games and earned a redshirt
What's Al Bundy's availability? I heard he scored four touchdowns in a single game during the City Championship. He even scored the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds. Sounds like a promising prospect.
