Emhoff isn’t running for president, why is his name even being mentioned.

Ask the poster of the Emhoff vid. I responded to your post about it. No matter which side you’re on, that clip is funny when you consider the back story context of this unfortunate election…both sides of it.

I have to say I’d never heard the phrase “shoulder to the wheel”. Maybe it’s common, but I’ve never heard it before. Not sure I’ve ever heard someone actually utter “getting back to the grindstone” either for that matter. Although certainly the shorthand “back to the grind” is a very common phrase that basically everyone uses to describe daily work or preparation.

Putting your head down and getting to work is also an extremely common phrase. I don’t think it means “ducking and dodging”, it means staying focused and ignoring distractions. That one would take that line and automatically apply sexual innuendo meaning because it’s a woman involved is misogyny. Like… textbook misogyny.

Your criticism of which phrase he chose is also sort of bizarre. He has to use YOUR phrase instead of what is likely a more common saying? You peddle obvious misogyny while at the same time play the class victim? Emhoff’s a “silver spooned elite” he doesn’t know what “real” work is, so misogyny is ok! I’m going to give an example here in the most common context to hopefully illustrate how silly this is. If one is in a classroom setting which phrase makes more sense? (1)”put your heads down and get to work” or (2)”shoulder to the wheel”? If a teacher says “put your heads down and get to work” would you infer they are instructing the female students to do a sex act!? I’d hope not, but here we are…

He sure didn’t. Only one weirdo engaged in that type of behavior.

Nice dissertation. I should have typed “put your shoulder to the wheel”, as in pioneers trying to get their wagons out of ruts and streams and sand when crossing the country. Put your head down in a classroom to me means shut up and behave and nap time. And no matter what side you are on or how pretentious you pretend to be, what Emhoff said is funny within the context of this election. Preach on, brother.

What is “within the context of this election”? I’d argue one would almost have to be in an insanity bubble to even think that line jumps out in the way you think it does. Obviously you are running with the Harris “slept her way to the top” nonsense which is patently obvious misogyny getting hammered to the zombies by right wing media. I get why YOU think it’s funny.

I just found it amusing you are nitpicking Emhoff’s choice of words in saying a ridiculously common phrase, meanwhile this is your guy.

Why would you jump to the conclusion that that idiot is anything to me? Why can you not find any situational comedy in Emhoff’s words? Are you that canted? Never mind. You be you and I’ll roll along as me. No need to respond because I don’t intend to chase my own tail on this issue.
Edit: For the dog that chases his tail will be busy. Been listening to some Clinton.

Not even a little bit funny. Just strikes me as stupid and sad.

I explained why with the teacher example, if you’re like “har har har girls, teacher said get your heads down” and that’s still the type of humor that appeals to you as an adult, then it is what it is.
