If it was a white cop doing that to a black fan, that black fan would be on national news right now getting millions of dollars for each appearance. Yet because it's a black cop doing it to a white fan it will largely be swept under the rug.

Similar to the situation with Scottie Scheffler up in Kentucky at the PGA Championship this year. If that had been Tiger Woods or another black golf player, you would've had BLM type protests outside the course immediately.

Double standards of any type need to be done away with it. But your side is okay with double standards. I would even say your side is okay with racism, you've just changed who it's okay to be racist against. As long as it's against a white person, it's okay.

Like I said, if the roles were reversed your side would be screaming about how the “boy” should just comply. We’ve seen it so many times no matter how egregious the beating. Sometimes it takes an incident like this so people such as yourself can realize and accept that police brutality is a HUGE problem in this country.

Think what you want, but you know it's true. If this had been a white cop beating a black fan, it would've been all over National News and you would've had the BLM, Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton types all over Jacksonville. It could've easily sparked protests again. Kamala Harris and Donal Trump would've both been making comments on it.

Since it's a black cop beating a white fan, it largely goes away.

We need to move towards a society where the reaction is the same regardless of race, since that would mean we treat everyone equal regardless of race.

Absolutely wrong. I would absolutely say that the white cop should be fired and charges possibly pressed. You can be both. You can support cops while knowing there are some bad cops out there that need to be off the force.

If this had been a white cop doing this to a black fan, you would also have federal hate crime charges being filed as well. Which to me is ridiculous, the crime doesn't change just because of the race. Honestly, if we're going to by that standard, this black cop should also have federal hate crime charged being filed against him. Yes the white guy sounds like he was a racist POS, but that doesn't excuse the beating. And it definitely sounds like the beating could have racially motivated.

Overall if this was in reverse your side would probably be burning down Jacksonville right now, destroying businesses and homes for people who had nothing to do with it. Those would be considered "peaceful protests". But if white people were burning down Jacksonville right now, you would want them all arrested and charges pressed. You can't even see your own double standard.

I usually don’t buy the “assault on an officer” garbage, like when the Louisville PD tried to claim Scottie Scheffler “assaulted” them. That charge definitely gets tossed around too easily. But all the videos I see on that one do have this aspect. The one with the big drunk guy is definite, this guy starts acting wild and even threatens to kill a cop? That’s much more a FAFO than a citizen being deprived of his/her rights.

It’s harder to judge the others, do they have the body cams on those? Definitely a bad look to start whaling on a guy. It looks like unnecessary force, or at least “bad technique” for subduing a drunken person even if they are resisting arrest. But also not a Rodney King beatdown as some are framing. None of the individual incidents may even be egregious, but if it happens 3 or 4 separate times in a single sports venue it’s definitely questionable policing to not be able to subdue a drunk guy more effectively without it becoming a “fight”. But assuming all these fools were overly aggressive and intoxicated, they are part of that “bad look” too. This is why the NCAA used to ban alcohol sales inside venues…

Good for you. I wasn’t speaking about you specifically but rather your side. I’m perfectly aware of the double standard on both sides of this issue. We’ve had about a billion “white cop does _____ to black man.” Literally countless. And there is ALWAYS some shmuck that makes the compliance claim. Every time. So spare me the bullshit.

And spare me the typical word salad from the left. Your side likes to believe that cops are out there hunting black men down like it's still 1950's Mississippi. They aren't.

Are there dirty cops that shouldn't be on the force? Yes, and we should try to get them out any way possible. Are easily 90% of cops good people trying to do the right thing and keep their communities safe? Yes, I believe the majority of cops are good people who have an impossible job to do.

You say every time it happens to a black man, someone makes the compliance claim. I could also say that every time it happens to a white man, someone says that it's justice for what's happened in the past. Both sides have idiots and racists. Both whites and blacks have racists.

as long as you acknowledge the double standard exists on both sides I’m good. Thanks.

I'm okay with concluding the argument if you can agree that both sides can be hypocrites on this issue. And that regardless of color (white or black), someone can be racist.

Stop crying and tell these racist ass fans to stop calling black police officers the n-word and comply with their orders. #BlueLivesMatter
