All three coaches were substantially worse thir last year and deserved to be fired. And none have proven otherwise in their next job. I have no problem with keeping or firing Napier. He could be getting his legs or he could fail next year. If we fire him, we dont need a reach hite. We are better off spending his buyout on players until we find a better coach willing to come to UF.

I do believe the cake is pretty well baked though. A 3rd consecutive losing season should get Billy the hook. That’s the just the opinion of a certified nobody, me.

 

You are as well. Those coaches had a house of cards which is why they ultimately failed. They had some success but they doomed themselves for not building the program up. Muschamp’s imbalance of recruiting defensive players isn’t going to sustain a program. We were pretty good on that side of the ball but our Offence was sad. Mac had all Muschamps stout Defensive players and played good offense….but let’s not forget all the players coming out and saying there was no strength and conditioning program. Players were having to get their own trainers. That’s not me saying that, that’s the players…Mullen could have been our saving grace except his plan was to try and dig through the diamonds to get to the coal at the bottom and see if could get a 3* to play great. Had he not been lazy, had he not retained dead weight coaches….we probably aren’t right back in this situation of looking for a coach yet again. But they all failed and were destined to fail because they came in and just went on auto-pilot instead of making improvements. Napier is the first coach that seems to be building a brick house. Slow of course, but solid. His main problem is game day which will ultimately be his undoing, especially now that it’s impacting recruiting.
