If he is not 100% do not send him out there. No need making the injury worse. This guy is the future of Gator football.
This is fantastic news for DJ and Gator Nation! If there is a chance of making it worse then I would much rather have him against Ole Miss and the clowns. Getting to 6 wins and beating the SWAC is more important to the program IMO. Billy HAS to beat the holes this year!
I don't know Lagway's medical history but if this was his first true injury, he might have taken it seriously. He was holding onto the back of his leg for most of the event, so that might have prevented it from getting worse. You ever get those calf cramps, the ones that make you scream for your mom? The last one I had I woke up from a deep sleep and grabbed it and held on for dear life to keep the calf from trying to tighten up even further. The next day my calf was blue and I had this serious soreness that caused me to limp. I ended up take several days off of work because crutches weren't working for me.
If the Jags schedule is like this season, they will play five home games before December. Unless they do play three games in London, that still leaves eleven games played in the Swamp before December. The turf on the field never looks that great by the end of the season even with just six games played on it.
Why do I have this strange feeling we are getting a Varsity Blues scenario going on here? Trainer with a big needle saying there will be a little pinch... LOL
Warner will have to get the reps in practice this week, cant afford to do otherwise. So might as well give him the start then go from there. Everyone play loose, get good experience, and work on improving for the remainder of the season. Nobody really thought this a W anyway, no reason to mortgage the farm over it. IMO Number one priority is beat F$U, the stink of being 50% of their victories this season would be immense. Number two is get to bowl eligible.
Even if DJ plays, I can't imagine a scenario where he is playing at full capacity after having to be carted off of the field on Saturday.
I wholeheartedly agree. But teams and players don't ever seem to act like this. He'll try to play if he thinks he can, and the coaches will usually let them unless a doctor/trainer says not to. I really hope he's in good shape for the last few games, they all look winnable if Lagway isn't hobbled and we can get a few other guys back.
He undoubtedly had an MRI. That will help classify the extent of the injury. I agree with a lot of it said on this panel that I hope he’s may be back for the very end of the season to beat FSU. Maybe even a bowl game. But getting him back healthy for next year is the prime consideration.
I said that in jest. But I do find it interesting that Dak Prescott tweaked his hammy on Sunday and has already been ruled out for several weeks.
