So, just to mix it up a little. Was thinking about this last night. What would you do?

I'd pardon him. Maybe have some kind of meeting/agreement beforehand that he'll go away, but I would give this serious thought.

Of course, all of this would be contingent on Trump/MAGA not creating a giant shitshow. But if things go reasonably well, might be a good way to deflate the balloon so to speak and try to move forward.

IDK. What are you folk's thoughts?

If she does and leaves the Biden, Obama snark behind, it could be a huge olive branch.
Trump would likely hate this idea. He loves to fight way too much.

    ***k no.

Why pardon an un-American traitorous criminal?

The only reason he's not likely in jail right now is because a corrupted judiciary, that he appointed much of, is criminally serving him and not justice.

Probably the main point of our criminal justice system is to serve as deterrence. Commit a crime, face consequences.

It's (long past) the perfect time to establish the (already established) precedent that a sitting president can't try to overturn an election and stay in power.

    LOCK HIM UP.

Problem is, it wouldn’t get him out of the NY or GA cases.

I would give him the option of a pardon if he admit he was guilty (edit to say, via pleading guilty) of the things he did. Attempting to steal the election. Stolen and sold classified docs.

I would then strip him of any titles and the right to tax payer funded security.... and then set him loose down 5-th ave to do a perp walk like in Game of Thrones.

    Shame ..... shame ..... shame ....

But let him keep his clothes on ... ain't nobody want to see that.

Wouldn't Trump have to accept a pardon?

no one is above the law, that includes Dear Leader. But it might help undo some of the divisions Trump has encouraged in our country, I lean towards yes.
But he is still liable for rape, no one should get a pass for that.

I'm not sure even the Democrats are sufficiently Democrat-brained to do this.

Not sure if someone has to admit guilt in order to accept a pardon, but if so, I don't see Trump ever doing that.

I think there’s an appreciable sum of voters that are voting against Trump, because of what he did while in office and after. I think Harris would be dishonoring those voters by pardoning the guy to make it easier on her administration.

If I thought for a second a pardon would somehow bridge the divide and unite Trumpeteers behind Harris, a leader they claim is “radical left” and a danger to the world, I would have second thoughts on the issue.

Hell, no. I have a mini warehouse with 200,000 pieces of Trump Soap On a Rope and I'm going to make a killing off of MAGA at $29.99 + S/H/each, $39.99 if you want the one that turns your skin orange..

I think it would help with a lot of the Never Trump Republicans that cannot stand Trump but do not like the LawFare that has been pursued against him. These trials are just going to stay in the news and prevent Trump from going away. It would get her Admin off to a good start by saying we are moving on from Trump and buy her some good will from Haley Republicans.

I would seriously consider it if he was willing to sign a statement admitting wrong doing - i think the lawyers call it allocution. I don’t think trump would do this in a million years but it would settle a number of issues swirling around him.

Not pardon. Possibly commute the sentence if it's in the best interests of the country.

She should and if Trump wins he should pardon Hunter and have all the investigations into Biden dropped. Both candidates should clean the slate and move forward and bring the country back together.

But if it just keeps this going. . . .

It would offer a chance to be the better person, the person who sees the bigger picture. The adult in the room. The key is making it go away. What's the best way to accomplish that?
