And those people are generally referred to as “tools”. Remember, a lot of these celebrities are the same people who were buddy-buddy with Harvey Weinstein and P-Diddy.
So you're just going to roll with hasty generalizations and guilt by association, huh? I am not sure what that will accomplish.
Just the truths about celebrities/politicians and Hollywood. That’s all. Whether you like it or not is 100% irrelevant.
"Identifying the effects of political endorsements has historically been difficult. Before the 2008 Democratic presidential primary, Barack Obama was endorsed by talk show host Oprah Winfrey. In this article, we assess the impact of this endorsement using, as measures of Winfreys influence, subscriptions to her magazine and sales of books she recommends. We find that her endorsement increased Obamas votes and financial contributions, and also increased overall voter turnout. No connection is found between the measures of Oprah’s influence and previous elections, nor with underlying political preferences. Our results suggest that Winfreys endorsement was responsible for approximately 1 million additional votes for Obama. Yeah, Oprah has or had a cult-like following back in those days. In hindsight, not hard to see her having that kind of pull. I’m guessing a similar equivalent these days, in terms of blind adulation, might be Taylor Swift. It would be a matter of A) old enough to vote B) knowing there is an election and C) actually making the effort to vote. At the end of the day, no different than a lot of Trump fanatics. All just led around by the nose
It's a lot different. The majority of MAGA either is incapable of separating truth from lies or simply don't care. Maybe because the Dems on this board are simply brighter and better educated, that wouldn't work on this side.
From August: "According to the research by Harvard University's Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation, there is "rigorous evidence that [celebrity] voices are incredibly powerful" in promoting civic engagement and altering polling numbers." Celebrities do have an impact on elections, Harvard study finds
Is it fair to say Dems would be getting shellacked every presidential election if it weren’t for the multitudes of A-list endorsements? Trump’s celebrity endorsements are really C-list at best. Why even trot them out? Not that Republicans have ever really had great support from celebrity types.
I am not really making commentary on the who and why's here. I am merely stating that celebrity endorsements can be beneficial to campaigns. And that Harrison Ford is not a "has been".
