Yeah, Oprah has or had a cult-like following back in those days. In hindsight, not hard to see her having that kind of pull.

I’m guessing a similar equivalent these days, in terms of blind adulation, might be Taylor Swift. It would be a matter of A) old enough to vote B) knowing there is an election and C) actually making the effort to vote.

At the end of the day, no different than a lot of Trump fanatics.

Is it fair to say Dems would be getting shellacked every presidential election if it weren’t for the multitudes of A-list endorsements?

Trump’s celebrity endorsements are really C-list at best. Why even trot them out? Not that Republicans have ever really had great support from celebrity types.

 

I am not really making commentary on the who and why's here. I am merely stating that celebrity endorsements can be beneficial to campaigns.

And that Harrison Ford is not a "has been".
