You giving up on the WH? What's with all the Lefty desperation, if they're going to win? It will likely be too close for comfort, but I think Trump wins, electorally. Which is all that really counts (though a popular win would be good for unit's sake).
That clown as you put it was and is our best choice, I'll blame the repubs who said that wouldn't vote for him, that's like voting for that dumb ass on the left.
Nikki Haley pens supportive op-ed in favor of Trump ahead of Election Day: 'Easy call' Nikki Haley pens supportive op-ed in favor of Trump ahead of Election Day: 'Easy call' "I don’t agree with Mr. Trump 100% of the time," Haley conceded. "But I do agree with him most of the time, and I disagree with Ms. Harris nearly all the time. That makes this an easy call." "Our southern border is our most pressing security threat; Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris have made it dramatically worse," the Republican wrote. "Their debacle in Afghanistan not only created a new terrorist state; it also signaled weakness that sparked Russia’s war against Ukraine." "Their appeasement of Iran has enriched that despotic regime and emboldened it to pursue war with Israel through its terrorist proxies," Haley added.
Assuming you are right, there will be an interesting battle to replace Mitch. Thune is Republican classic — he sort of checks all the typical boxes. He is not a MAGA guy — yikes, he even certified the election! Would be interesting to see how much support he gets. Cornyn is even further Republican classic. Don’t see him being the guy.
The GOP will win control of the Senate unless there is a hidden gender led blue wave that sweeps out Cruz, Scott and others along with saving Tester. Seems like a long shot.
I make no predictions. I just know the likelihood of defending so many democrat seats being up for election was pretty small a few months ago but remains a possibility going into the last days. Almost all the down ballot democrats are polling better than Harris which gives them a chance.
I didnt supply any facts. Just an opinion which, by definition, cannot be wrong. You need to wake up earlier to get to your second cup of coffee before you post.
I think she needed to do this to cite to as backing the Party when she runs in 2028. If she truly meant it, she would’ve done this much sooner when it actually mattered.
If Harris wins the WH and Republicans win the Senate, I wonder what would happen if there's a Supreme Court vacancy? We saw the Senate refuse to hold a vote on a nominee. Could Harris refuse to nominate someone, would she pick a moderate and try to peel off a couple Republicans?
R's did not end the filibuster last time around. I would assume that both Thune and Cornyn would have to commit to a position on it ahead of their race for Leader. Both are old school R's, so I would assume they would want to keep it in place.
I think it depends on the make up of the Senate. If R's have a 51-49 edge, she probably can get Murkowski and Collins to vote for the nominee. If it is 54-46, then I think Harris might have to seriously consider submitting a more centrist judge that can make it through the confirmation process.
I think she would nominate someone for sure, no risk there. Republicans will either block it or confirm someone, either way the conservative majority shrinks. If she wins (or loses for that matter), there should be some strategic retirements in the lame duck session too (Kagan/Sotomayor). In theory, the Senate terrain looks better in the midterms for Dems, Maine is up and another one that is a possible flip. If the keep they margins narrow now, they could possibly control the chamber in 2 years.
Things are looking much brighter for Kari Lake's prospects right now and I would not have said that 24 hours ago. We'll see what happens.
