Kentucky held them to 13 points. 13-12 final score. Do you think that matters much in Lexington right now? Why would we be reaching for positives after 14 point loss? Which followed a whole lot of other losses.

    "What's actually happening?"

"BILLY SUCKS BILLY SUCKS BILLY SUCKS BILLY SUCKS BILLY SUCKS BILLY SUCKS BILLY SUCKS BILLY SUCKS BILLY SUCKS BILLY SUCKS BILLY SUCKS BILLY SUCKS BILLY SUCKS BILLY SUCKS BILLY SUCKS"

It's okay, if you have one or two posts that aren't bashing Billy he'll probably still get fired.

Do you honestly think being in major bowl games doesn’t make any money for the athletics department?

It's actually not a lot. The money gets pooled by the SEC and redistributed. Even making the playoff semi and final is only like 2 mil each directly to the school.

Throw where exactly? He is a GM like QB without the arm strength and processing speed pre-snap. Dink and dunk its not going to be pretty. Regardless of what transpires in austin and gville the next 2 weeks, BN and staff need to discover what AW can do in sec game speed and hone in on it with 2 extremely tough games.

If there are any football gods that still smile on the gators lets hope it translates to a win vs fsu. Anything else would be the next heavenly miracle the last being the ‘69 mets

Yes. The smaller bowl games are definitely money losers for the athletic departments. What may count as "major" bowl games that aren't part of the playoffs anymore, like the Citrus or Gator bowls, are probably close to a wash for a school like Florida. What used to the the New Year's 6 bowls are all part of the playoff now, those were the ones that paid enough to be worthwhile but aren't really "bowls" anymore, they're just a playoff quarterfinal or semifinal depending on the year.

The playoff units will be big, those will be moneymakers. The rest of the bowls outside the playoff? Probably not.

No because it’s a pooled take for all sec schools. We got bowl money last year not even going.

i was commenting on what you think, not what i think. What i think is i have to question the perspective of anyone who thinks the game wasn't close after being tied with 5 minutes left in the game. That's the statement you made.

So you think we still lose had Lagway not left the game? Did UK or any other team who has played UGA lose their starting QB with the lead and momentum?

Sorry, even with pooling, not all SEC teams earn the same amount. The teams going to better bowls earn more. Google “do all SEC teams earn the same from bowls”. Or read here. https://businessofcollegesports.com/college-football-playoff-payouts/. Also this doesn’t even count increased merchandise sales from the exposure.

It's not the big financial windfall you might think it is. From 2008:

When you play for the national championship, there is a misconception that the schools participating reap a $17 million payday.

Florida is hoping to make $47,400.

According to the budget approved by the University Athletic Association's board of directors last week, UF will spend $2.42 million on the game and receive $2.467 million in revenue from the SEC. The rest, as usual, goes into a pot that includes all bowl revenue and is split by the other 11 conference schools and the league office.

The big winners are the coaches who guided the Gators to Miami.

Miami slice: $17 million BCS payout for the Gators? Not exactly

I’m as disappointed as anyone that we lost to Georgia. But if you cant see this team, starting with the Tennessee game, is playing good football for the first time in a while you are an uncurable pessimist.

Our team definitely looks better. But Napier isn’t getting paid millions of dollars to lose close games. At the end of the day no one is going to remember what the score is at halftime, they’ll remember the L. At some point you need to win some of these games
