A ticket to a sporting event is a revokable license that can be pulled by stadium security (cops working OT) at their discretion. You don't get to just invoke your constitutional rights and remain in your seat and tell them to piss off.
Here are some videos of people who know rights: https://youtube.com/shorts/YfAmaKPzdOs?si=GUbhbZ9oHAKHFKpQ
Ya think? Yeah it was excessive even if he had a legal right to detain him which I’m gonna go with the two videos and guess he didn’t have the right to pummel an old man and the rules are the rules. When a cop is actually detaining someone they are supposed to say over and over “stop resisting! You are being detained!”. Maybe I missed it over the sound of them being beaten the crap out of but I didn’t hear it once. first a video for all the good cops: https://youtube.com/shorts/va38To1Wb3c?si=7Sgl7tavtjyhwH19 (And the plenty risky and good things most do. I am far from anti cop. Not as I said in the other thread; I am not some woke liberal cop hater. I just want my justice not determined by the cops that don’t even know their procedures or worse and the many fake cops). Now here is a cop following procedure during an attempt to resist. He as he is trained to say “you are under arrest, stop resisting” or in a court of law she can claim anything and it will hold up. Find me where either of them say stop resisting? They are being attacked illegally as you will see.
Dude your right to not get the shit beaten out of you when you are not legally detained is constant. Also, to an extent, you are bound by the policies on the ticket which i nor you know what happened but no that beating is never ever legal. Very few situations and it certainly isn’t when someone is sitting with a hand on a chair or when a guy has already been laid out. By the way for all the whiners about all I wrote before being erased for no reason throughout the normal conversation on SG was why I was annoyed. I don’t just post garbage or general thought. I back up my thoughts with research which is why I was annoyed. Also aside from Solari, GG, and formally Hal I don’t know or care who the mods are.
Looked to me like he pretty clearly swatted at the cops hand as he reached in. May just have to disagree on that one. I'm with you that none of it justifies getting hit with handcuffs used as brass knuckles. And generally in these type instances I'm on the side of the citizen and not the officer. But then, standing up and calling the officer the N word and wanting to fight him.... If you're being wrongfully ejected from a game you aren't gonna litigate that in the stands. Like I said earlier, this dude FA and FO. I don't really feel bad for him. I'd like more details on the other video. That looks like some guys getting pummeled for no real reason .
Interesting how 95Gator calls this board a cesspool, then proceeds to call people whiners and engage in unsolicited conflict w multiple posters.
Yeah, just about everyone was having a solid, honest conversation about the videos and then he went into his rant which he had completely wrong. Then he blasted the board for being so awful. Makes all kinds of sense.
I think the other video is going to be explained away in that the guy getting punched by the cop had his arms/hands around the cop's duty belt. As far as the brass knuckles incident, I think calling the cop then N word actually makes it worse because now you have an argument that the slur set him off and he used excessive force because of it. He was personally going to punish him for say that. The guy wasn't swinging back and there was a couple times that the cop hit him with all he had while the dude wasn't even looking, with a weapon, that could cause great bodily harm. I wouldn't be surprised if that dude had to get stitched up and has a few facial fractures, over what was most likely resisting without violence over a trespassing violation and possibly disturbing the peace/public drunkeness. The (un)serious nature of the crime and (lack of) danger to to the public, imo, it does not rise to throwing looping hooks from your back pocket at a dude talking to the other officer. Hell, call for backup, the dude was refusing to leave, I don't think he was a flight risk.
I notice a lot of (righty) posters in the football forum absolutely hate the TH forum. They’re constantly throwing shots at the board, its posters and mods. I’m guessing they got their asses handed to them here at some point and are now traumatized.
Par for the course. Just about everyone on other boards that call this place a cesspool either comes in here like a bull in a China shop calling people names, or does drive by "Hiliary invented AIDS" posts and then get upset that people prove them wrong.
I do her your point about the N word. At what point does a dude challenging a cop to a fight and bowing up become a defense argument? Honest question. Does the dude have to throw the first punch before the cop can pummel him. I'm also sure it played into the force that this was a large guy who shook off the first taser shot. The guy swatting the cops hand away (in my opinion) was an incredibly minor assault on an officer but I do think legally it was.
Hypothetical: You are a black fan in that stadium with a lawfully purchased ticket sitting in the correct seat. Assume you have done absolutely nothing wrong. A white cop working stadium security approaches you and instructs you to leave as they are clearing the stadium of minorities. Do you have to leave under those facts?
Wow your animosity for a certain type is showing. Very ugly. No one in their right mind should see the cops wailing on these people as justifiable.
To me, it looks like the cop grabbed the dudes shirt to pull him and the guy grabbed his own shirt and snatched it out of the cops fist. And I agree, the dudes size, obvious resisting, and eating a couple tazer prongs definitely needs to be taken into consideration. A question I would propose is if that it was serious enough for the level of force to be needed, why didn't the other cop react the same way? And on another watch, the cop punched him in the mouth while he was talking to the other cop. He probably has fractured teeth as well.
I have to ask: are cops trained to use their fists repeatedly to get someone down? I mean it's not any worse than a baton, I suppose.
Whether you leave is up to you, but it gets to my point that you aren't going to litigate it with security in the stands. If they're going to remove you forcefully they will. The ticket is clearly an acknowledgment that you are willing to give up some rights/freedoms to enter the arena. Same way your aren't going to claim your 4th amendment right and refuse the search on the way in. They won't let you in otherwise.
