Left-wing comedian Bill Maher tore into the corporate media during his Real Time Overtime segment for lying about Donald Trump calling for Liz Cheney to be executed.

“I woke up to the headline ‘Donald Trump had called for a firing squad for Liz Cheney,’ said Maher, adding, “and this is what I really don’t like about the media — No, he didn’t.”
Maher goes on to explain what Trump clearly said. “He’s criticizing her for being a war hawk. I mean she is Dick Cheney’s daughter.” Maher then read Trump’s full and unambiguous quote. Here it is:

Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her. Let’s see how she feels about it, you know when the guns
are trained on her face. You know, they’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington, in a nice building saying, “Oh, gee, well, let’s send — let’s send 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy.”

“Just to be clear,” Maher continued, “this is exactly what hippies always said. This is exactly what peaceniks always said. [Trump is saying], ‘You know what, it’s very easy to sit in your building and send young men to die.’”
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) quickly agreed that the media lied. “I agree with you on the lying,” he said. “That’s ridiculous and absurd and counterproductive.

He then said to the media, “Just don’t lie to me. I don’t like Donald Trump. Don’t lie to me and tell me he wants her in front of a firing squad. He was saying something that … again, sounds like what hippies used to say.”
Raskin went on to criticize Trump, but Maher interrupted him. “I’m not defending Trump,” Maher explained. “Just don’t lie to me.”
The corporate media — including liars like CNN’s Kasie Hunt, Eric Bradner, Kate Sullivan, and Jim Acosta; Politico’s Andrew Howard, Jonathan Martin, and Jonathan Lemire; the Washington Post’s Aaron Blake; Reuters’ Andy Sullivan and Susan Heavey; National Review’s Jim Geraghty; Rolling Stone’s Nikki McCann Ramirez; and the Bulwark’s Not-So-Little Lord Fauntleroy Jonah Goldberg — believed it was 2008 again and that they could get away with fabricating an October Surprise that could be dry-humped straight through Election Day.
And the reason these soulless liars fabricated it was to drown out the real October Surprise, which was that, throughout October, the Harris-Biden economy created only 12,000 jobs — all government jobs. Private sector jobs fell by 28,000, and manufacturing lost 44,000 jobs.

    Carry on...

Sad that you have allowed your hatred for DT to cloud any objectivity. There is no worse blind man than the one who doesn't want to see. I think you are actually smart enough to understand DT's point, but just couldn't resist to twist and spin this to appease your hate.

So, in essence, we're told on good authority that Trump misspoke or did not clearly state his thought, and was therefore criticized.

Isn't that what the media and right-wing pundits have spent 3+ years doing with Joe Biden?

    Hypocrisy abounds.

His words and meaning are very clear. All one has to do is read the entire quote, not a small snippet of it, and it’s clear to see what he said and meant.
He don’t mis speak. His thoughts were clear. This is a case of LIBERAL media being intellectually dishonest and providing fake news to the masses. Many MANY liberal leaning pundits have taken issue with the way this has been portrayed. Sadly, some on here are son entrenched, so buried into their “twice” they cannot see past “Trump is bad”. They would rather look foolish than admit Trump wasn’t the pure they claimed in this instance.

Or maybe you are ignoring the message he is conveying to the more radical segment of his base without coming out and saying, "Go hunt her down like the dog she is and take care of her." Whether he means that or not, some of his nutjob base will interpret it that way. Just like at the Capitol. He didn't tell the insurrectionists to "march right over, overwhelm the cops, beat up the police, kill a few, desecrate the building and steal stuff." Oddly enough, however, that crowd he and his speakers worked up into a frenzy just happened to all get the same idea at the same time.

And now, by announcing he intends to pardon the insurrectionists he is condoning what they did that day.

Words have meanings, words have consequences.

    " . . . . they cannot see past “Trump is bad”.

    For good reason . . . . .

For those defending Dear Leader Trump, he has already said he will go after "the enemy within", meaning his political opponents. He specifically mentioned Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi. Liz Cheney? The Liz Cheney BS in this thread is nothing compared to Trump's fascist rhetoric. Open your eyes for God's sake!

    FB_IMG_1730600139722.jpg

He's told you EXACTLY what he's planning on doing.

It’s actually sadder that your blind loyalty to Trump prevents you from seeing that he’s discussing putting a key political rival in front of a firing squad. Yes, I’ve seen the full clip. He continues to use violent rhetoric, which only deepens divisions and raises the risk of more MAGA-fueled incidents (like January 6th). Not to mention maga Trump threats of civil war. This kind of language just fans the flames.
It really is ok to disagree with Dear Leader.

First, thanks for discussing without insults, people should be allowed to disagree without throwing stones.
Let's be honest, both sides spew venom wouldn't you agree? Both sides use divisive language wouldn't you agree? I only see one candidate being threatened or shot at. I see only one group being called deplorable's or garbage. It really is ok to disagree with Dear leader on your end too.

To be honest our nation is so polarized with the help of all media that we are no longer the United States. We are a divided nation culturally. I really don't see that changing.
I made the mistake of posting on here knowing no minds will be changed, just fell into temptation checking out a post or two.
I'll try not to make that mistake again.
On this I'm confident we have at least one agreement, we're all Gator fans.

Nope. You lose. Take that show on the road, cuz you're not selling any of that crap in this house, mister.

Only ONE side has leadership who publicly uses violent rhetoric regularly, such as of a firing squad for their opponents. Who lies about FEMA, nearly causing violence and probably impeding disaster relief. Only one side tells a litany of racist lies about immigrants, such as "eating dogs."

So get your "both sides" out of here and start over. That's a mistruth you're asserting. Many people compare that to lying.

Now, back to your deplorable candidate's deplorable and violent words: he could have said innumerable things about L Cheney without including his often repeated references to violence. He chose his own violent language.

That is the story. Well, that and that people like you support such an un-American false-leader troll.

But you have the right to do that. But not to gaslight us.

On the very thread about your candidate publicly and approvingly talking about his main political opponent being shot in the face by 9 people with rifles......and this is far from new behavior for him....you honestly want to........

    ......get ready, this is good.......

.... blame the media for the climate of violence in our country?

What, you got lost on your way to the F$U forum, sir? You really gonna try that type of gaslight, con on the people here?

Now look inward. Quit supporting such a vile, un-American piece of garbage. Or if you do, at least quit trying to gaslight on his behalf.

    This probably says it all.
John Bolton weighs in on Trump's criticism of Liz Cheney
Former national security adviser John Bolton suggested that former President Trump’s recent criticism of former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) is less about war and more related to her voting to impeach him after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

“I do think, in Liz Cheney’s case, though, there’s more to this that people are not catching. And that is, his criticism of her is not based on her being a war hawk or anything else,” Bolton told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins in an interview Friday. “The fact is, she voted to impeach him, after January the 6th, and he cannot get it out of his head,” he added.
