Actually curious if Coach believed Warner was a viable QB3 going into a year where Mertz was coming back from injury, vs a feel good story he liked or we couldn’t get anyone mo better.

Maybe Dez at QB and we go full buck buck on errbody ;)

My question still, why run DJ? We are down to 2 qbs with the third option basically less than not good. Why risk injury when we have the toughest gauntlet ahead of us?
I know there's always the possibility of injury regardless but why raise the risk? Were there called runs? It's one thing to scramble when no one is open but I would think you tell your qb to slide or throw it away. Knowing the lack of quality behind DJ which was evident, I still am confounded why you allow him to run the ball?

they got the transfer from Colorado state (Mullen) to be third string. Either Warner out played him in practice or who knows what other reasons Millen isn’t playing but….Millen started 10 games at Colorado state so that usually is a decent if not better than average 3rd stringer.

Rico Dynamite (5-10, 195). If Coach had just put him in, they’d have won state for sure.

We've got about 8 kids who played qb in hs. But none of them likely have any idea about how to run a college offense... That's why they aren't qbs.

I'm hoping that Warner can take a few steps forward, that it coaches can make things easier on him and that we can find a way to get the ball down the field. Maybe we use one of those 8 players in some wildcat to supplement things.

In short, we've got to prevent them from teeing off on Warner and the running game.

Somehow, we kinda had a feeling in the back of our minds that something like this would happen... it follows the script of every below-average Gator Coach who's job depends on the QB

And people complained when AR wouldn’t run. Can’t have it both ways

Needs to be training all them QBs. Open a clinic and see who rolls up. Play two if you have too. Its way late to throw them into the fire but I wasn’t impressed at all by Warner.

Having any QB in the pocket for every play make him a sitting duck. It would be just a matter of time for an injury to happen.

I know that the Gator O-line has made some major improvements. However, having Lagway in the pocket every play would be asking for too much (even with an top ranked line). Also, the offense would be handcuffed.

I took some time this morning and looked at the video (link at the bottom of this post) of the play where Lagway got injured. It was not a high risk for injury play. He was running forward. After gaining a few yards, he saw that the play was dead. At that point, he opts to go down onto the turf. He had milked the play for what it was worth. The UGA defender coming at him, basically flew over Lagway. Little to no contact was made.

The video had another replay with the view from an end zone camera. In the 34 seconds point of the video, Lagway piviots to his right to turn the play upfield. At this point you can see his left leg go a little bit wobblely. This is when the injury happened. In the 39 second point of the video, you can see Lagway reaching for his left hamstring.

You can't. Too late in the season for that. Napier put all of his eggs in the basket in the bye week with Lagway. There's no Plan B at this point because it was always on Plan A. He has one week to prepare for a road trip to Texas and going with anyone now will fail. Warner now is our most experienced QB on the roster. Do you grab some kid who might have played QB in HS to start against Texas on the road?

It's time to go all in with the ground game like we should have against Georgia. Go I formation with a FB. You eat up clock, shorten the game enough to where you have a chance late in the game. Defenses aren't prepared for this offense, they are suited for the spread rpo. We have 2 really good backs, all we need is strong FB leading the way.
