Completely misunderstanding what I was trying to say. Shit happens in life that is out of your control, like the injuries in this game. That's why you have to have something set aside to get through it. Look at this forum of late, the checking is empty and the credit cards are maxed out.

The team played their hearts out, sometimes your very best just isn’t enough, it is what it is.

I wonder how many coaches will lose jobs for losing to the toughest November schedule in the country because injuries have left that coach with a walk on QB? This team was fit from a S&C perspective, knowledge from the film room, motivated, and executing at a level to beat the #2 team in the country in a neutral site game. The coach did that! Now we want to complain that the coach hired less than three years ago isn’t 3-4 deep with 4/5* players? Sounds ridiculous to me. Slimy Kirby started purchasing his roster upon his arrival, Napier was prohibited by law his first two years from being involved in paying the players (thanks DiklessSantis).

CBN clearly showed that we were positioned to take the next step until we lost several critical players against an elite roster that’s been under construction since before the pandemic. If DJ is healthy, we beat Ugly and the narrative is completely different. Some of you need to learn how to step back and evaluate a situation without visceral frustration. I said all week that UF was turning the corner and would not surprise me if they beat the mutts. We improved on O and D this year, freak (cursed program) injuries aside.

How many seasons have we lost critical pieces on offense and defense over the last decade. I for one will continue to support this program!

I skipped over what the dude I quoted was responding to, obviously it is true that if Billy hadn't sucked before he'd be in a better place now.

Year three was always going to be the litmus test. BN has had some unfortunate luck as UF coach, but it ultimately comes down to too few W's. I don't see BN showing a positive trend in the one metric that really matters as we finish out this year to put on his 3 year UF resume.

We have improved during the year which is a good sign, but that has no bearing on how next season will go in today's cfb world. Forget HS recruiting, how much of this roster will be playing elsewhere next season? This year's improvement is probably not setting the foundation for next season like it might have ten years ago. CFB is just so different now. We could just as easily have a season like FSU.

But I don't blame BN for having a PWO from Yale and him earning the QB3 spot.

Hired a coach who is trying to win now, not in year 4.

Off Topic but interesting that Clemson (that got beat by Louisville today), Army, Navy, and Air Force are the only teams without a starting transfer this year according to the Aflac trivia tonight

It’s stupid to not protect the best offensive player you have when you don’t have a solid backup. We aren’t talking AR here who is a better runner than passer. Lagway’s best weapon is his arm, with his legs being used to escape and run/pass when he has the opportunity. To lose him on a typical QB draw play that gains 3-4 yards is dumb. You don’t expose your QB to unnecessary shots when you don’t have a good backup.

No, but run the triple option with three running backs if we don’t trust this kid to throw the ball. It was shocking to me to see that we didn’t trust the #2 qb to throw the ball.

Heard an interesting perspective, if he’s out for season he sees no live reps so next year will be a learning year again.

Trusted three years ago. Based on the results, no one trusts the process.

I am not okay with losing. But, given the odds, the loss of our top 2 QBs and the improved defense, I don’t consider this a loss despite the score.

The post game presser was so frustrating. I feel like Billy is going take everyone out for ice cream. This isn’t little league. These dudes are getting paid to perform and Billy is getting $7M. It’s not like he’s a volunteer. Can we play to win the game?
