Tommy, are we really bitching now because our QB3 is not winning games for us? It was loss against one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the country. It sucks. But injuries caught up with us and it was a hard taught game.

For the record, do not conflate supporting your team with believing that a coaching change is needed. I cheered for the Gators today AND I think BN does not give the Gators the best chance of winning. Stating that those not wanting BN to continue as the coach next year are not supporting the team is BS.

I will say this SS if it's his decision at the end of the year has a tougher decision to make. On one hand the entire team is playing better especially on defense. With DJ we were competing and beating uga before he went down. The team plays hard for BN and has represented the college well by staying out of trouble.
On the flip side, 3 consecutive losing seasons for we are not beating the next 3 teams. We still have an abysmal record verse our rivals. We may very well end this season with 4 straight losses, much like last year. The win loss record hasn't been this bad since many many years ago. Three years without a bowl game. It's taken 2 1/2 years for the light to come on re our defense.

IMO if it's solely SS's decision BN will be here next year even if we don't win another game.

What do you mean? I support our team but I’m not gonna continue to poke myself in the eyes for no reason.

Game was a lot closer than I thought - especially after the Lagway injury. I was stoked when we tied it up late. Didn’t like the play call after Georgia retook the lead. Warner was struggling mightily to pass all night. Even his completions, outside of one throw, were dangerous. Could have thrown multiple interceptions. I didn’t expect much since he is the 3rd stringer so not really his fault he isn’t ready for prime time.

but…after the Jackson td in the 4th our run game was rolling. And with 4 minutes to go there was plenty of time to continue to run the ball to drive the field to tie it up. I just thought it too risky based on how many turnover worthy throws Warner had already gotten away with to have him start that drive throwing the ball.

I see lots of posters pleased with the effort. And I agree the team - especially defense - played hard. But I still saw the same issues we see in other games that are a negative staple of Napier. The special teams gaffe of the bad snap has been pretty much not talked about. Napier didn’t snap the ball but in another big spot..special teams blows it big time. Play calling? On 4th and 7 late in the game we run a play action pass. Play action on a 4h down and long late in the game ? Makes no sense (though we did complete the pass lol).

I don’t know where we go from here. Lose out if Lagway misses rest of the season? Maybe beat FSU? NIL has dried up and other than a new coach being hired and bringing optimism (and thus NIL flowing) or boosters suddenly believing in Napier (when we don’t win any more games ) and turning on the NIL spigot, there won’t be a big boost to recruiting or in the portal. Winning this game and closing strong could have been the optimism boost needed but frankly that isn’t likely now with no qb.

something not talked about…if the big boosters truly are no longer going to pump cash into NIL under Napier, we stand to lose a ton of players in losing bidding wars when the portal period opens even if we keep Napier. I’d expect schools to go after (tamper) with our quality players, including Lagway, even if Napier stays as coach and while our boosters will likely honor current NIL agreements, if they don’t participate with countering the increased offers the players may receive in the portal we could lose a lot of the current players even while retaining Napier. So keeping him may not help as much as some think.

    a big catch 22.

Well we need another backup. What I saw from Warner today, not sure we win another game.

I loved it when he was campaigning hard for us to have an illegal formation when we got that 1st down to kick the FG at the end of the half just to be corrected. lol
