Bad luck or not, we’re looking at 4-8 or 5-7 in year three. Kids are playing hard but players have played hard under substandard coaching before.
I am proud of the way this team played tonight, they showed a lot of heart. They played hard and did not give up in tough circumstances. The defense played with intensity and I think that Ja’Kobi Jackson deserves special recognition on the offensive side of the ball. I hope that Lagway makes a speedy and complete recovery, along with all the others on both teams who were injured this evening. This is a team with a lot of talent and potential that for a multitude of reasons will get less than they deserve in 2024.
A lot of slipping on the turf, including on DJ’s injury. Were we wearing the right cleats? Just wondering.
After watching this game, I now realize why I dislike ESPN/ABC broadcasters... Pathetic homer/haters...
come on brother - any other SEC coach with Napier's W-L record would have to deal with the same discontent from fans and boosters, it's not like UF is some kind of outlier case there. And this is Billy's third year running the program, he's had plenty of time to build depth. but like I said in my post, he coached the guys up to play really well tonight and DJ going down was just a terrible break. I don't want to sit here complaining about the coach tonight, he deserves that much at least.
We have been slipping all season, even at home. Georgia didn't slip even late in the game when their TEs were cutting back our defenders were slipping on every play.
I heard Jax stadium just put down a new turf a day or two ago. I wonder if that had anything to do with our players slipping and falling (Lagway?) and getting injured?
Kudos to The coaching staff and team. They played better than most expected, especially the D. Not a Napier fan, but as noted he has had some incredible bad injury luck . Lose Mertz and Montrelle while beating Vols. Lose Lagway while beating Ga, and I'm not even sure what DBs we have left. At this point might not win another game.
lol we had Austin Simmons and he flipped to Ole Miss last summer and reclassified to 2023. You act as if getting a verbal from Lagway meant that it was a GUARANTEE he would sign on the dotted line with UF. While he eventually did, this is RECRUITING we’re talking about and NOTHING is a guaranteed. You don’t go hard to close and get a QB for one class because you have a VERBAL commitment from a QB the following year. On the flipside, Max Brown would have been playing tonight over Warner but he bolted. Nathan CBN could have done to prevent that
If I could pull an SOS adage out here... the AD should be taking responsibility for putting him in, in the first place. Lol.
How do you win when you are without your first and second string quarterback out for the season and a third string quarterback with limited experience against one of the better defenses in college football?
