When did the Democratic Party start raiding apartments for vermin?

    Definitely bizarre.

I don't get the political angle though, anymore than why in the hell the feds would raid a house over a squirrel and a 'coon.

It wasn’t “the feds”, it was New York. It’s illegal to keep Raccons as pets in many states because they spread rabies. These people are morons. I’d bet if they didn’t bring the raccoon into the equation the squirrel would have been fine, although technically illegal in NY (looked it up and NY generally prohibits taking “wildlife” as pets).

Naw, you just gotta parboil the nasty out of the raccoon then smoke it on the grill. Delish.

My wife used to raise baby squirrels for the local animal shelter. Euthanizing a squirrel because it may have rabies is bull shit. I checked it out when the wife started raising them because we had kids at the time. Squirrels very rarely get rabies it's like a one in a million chance and have never ever been known to pass rabies to humans.

Except the issue is raccoons with rabies, not squirrels

I got bit by a squirrel once. Animal Control killed it, bc they had to crack open its skull in order to determine if it had rabies ( then ida had to go to ER and get like 50 shots in the belly).

Of course, the squirrel biting me is a fairly significant distinguishing fact, but I agree--they also said rabies in a squirrel is lotteryesque rare.

New York law requires a license to keep a wild animal. They had the squirrel for seven years and still didn’t obtain one? The squirrel was also euthanized after it bit someone involved in the investigation into unsafe conditions at the sanctuary where the animals were housed.

Yeah I got bit a couple of times back when the wife used to raise them. Even the tamest of squirrels is gonna bite if grabbed the wrong way. The wife had one named Dale that was like Peanut, she became too tame to be released. We tried releasing her but she was just too friendly with people. We kept her around the house a couple of years but she kept chewing up the furniture. I finally took her out to the middle of a 40,000 acre wildlife management area and turned her loose hoping she wouldn't have any old ladies to run up their dress out there.

The OP comment about Dems loving illegal immigrants stood out to me in light of the fact that the man in the story is complaining about the cops interrogating his wife over her immigration status.

I was very sad to see they took this man's squirrel and raccoon and killed them. Not cool.
Says the man who loves the party of Nazis and rapists. What is it about women and people of color that makes you so angry?

As always, a pathetically misleading thread title by our resident "look at me" poster.

Your threads are always so boring.
