    Hot take?

The intense division in this country makes it seem like a split may be necessary to avoid major conflict. Like it or not, neither side—nor their leaders or ideas—are the worst in the world. Trump, with all his flaws, may not be an ideal candidate for a civilized country, but he’s hardly comparable to history’s most notorious leaders, past or present. Similarly, the other side isn’t pushing the most extreme socialism, and even if Kamala takes office, she won’t be the most socialist or communist leader globally.

The values and visions of each side are now so different that it’s hard to see a path back to unity. Neither candidate appears capable of bridging this divide. Ultimately, we may need two separate countries—one where conservatives and Republicans can live according to their values, and another where liberals and Democrats can do the same.

Regardless of who wins, we’ll likely see mass protests and violence in the short term, with groups like Antifa and Proud Boys ready to mobilize depending on the outcome. If both sides remain unwilling to compromise and at least show civility, what’s next? Some level of forgiveness and compassion is essential if we’re to move forward.

As long as it's my neighbor who is politically different than me that has to move to the new country, and not me, I'm good with it.

I didn't want to get too long winded with the OP so I left this out for someone to possibly bring up to discuss. This is the major sticking point. How would we actually divide the country.

No major change ever seems realistic until it is inevitable. All civilizations have dissolved somehow and we will too one day. Maybe soon. Especially if the divide between the two parties never gets fixed. Does the alternative of another civil war seem more realistic?

Im not advocating for this, just throwing out the discussion. Clearly I don't think anyone would want this but nobody is willing to step up to the plate and find common ground.

There is no two state solution here.

To even consider the idea shows either a shallow understanding or a deep and unsettling hatred for your fellow countrymen and countrywomen.

In 1960 the police were shooting kids at Kent state and citizens were lynching other citizens based on their skin color. There were riots in all major cities. People were spitting on soldiers returning from war. Women were second class citizens and could get beat without recourse. Being gay was a death wish.

We’ve survived way worse than a fat liar who uses too much spray tan and can’t climb into a garbage truck.

Stop viewing our fellow citizens as the enemy that you can't even live with.

Stop having politics be one's morality and identity. It's what fuels this fire.

Recognize there is no "winning", only compromise.

Just a few off the top of my head.

There's lots that can be done, but attempting to make two countries is foolish and impossible

So which side am I on? Clearly you are trying to peg me as the one who wants the divide to happen instead of simply posing a question. So, who do I hate?

Maybe, just maybe its a question on a message board for discussion. Jesus you people are insufferable.

So Kamala wins - are you reaching out to anyone here or are they still deplorable and inhuman because they voted for Trump?

Never gonna happen. Hell, I know so many people who don’t share the same politics as their parents. Sooo many. Are they going to live in different countries from each other because politics?

Get a grip. Maybe think a little bit before you start a thread.

Is there a short-cut key for "I'm crazy apolitical and super independent-thinking rasta guy! And you people are insufferable!"

Its a hypothetical question and all any of you have to do is simply answer it. Instead all of you are here thumbing your nose and acting so morally superior and throwing vitriol and flame at me simply for opening a thread for discussion.

Honestly I really would hate to be some of you. Being angry all the time must be so exhausting. FFS and some of you wonder why Im constantly saying you are some of the worst people to talk to HANDS DOWN.

Moral superiority, compassion and inclusiveness on display for the world to see.

Congrats on further solidifying the stereotype.

I can't say it better. Politics should never be one's morality or identity.

If we had to divide the country, it should be divided into "Negative Nellies" and "Sunshine Pumpers".

Anyone who disrupted the status quo in their respective nation could be sent to Puerto Rico, otherwise known as "Too Hot".
