I can't remember the last time I thought Miami's schedule was Murderer's Row. But regardless, I don't think their specific schedule is the difference between this year's results versus their last few. Ward has played very well and been a clear upgrade for them, likely the difference between undefeated so far or having at least 2 losses already.
Hopefully we keep our roster intact rither way. These kids can win some games tge next couple years. Portal will have to be used more than we want this year. Portal groceries are expensive but so is development.
Dude, it is reminiscent of the easiest schedules they played in the I, Big East and even early ACC days. Utterly pitiful given the massive step up that nearly every other program is facing. I know it's not "their fault" but it's pathetic nonetheless. But you are right. They've easily got 2 losses without Ward.
Miami has 2 losses with ward and referees that don't make at least two absurd calls/non calls to help them stay undefeated. That said, ward is the difference between those games being sure fire losses and bad ones at that.
I don't think we're really disagreeing that much, but I looked up 2023 and 2022 to compare to this year and all three years look pretty similar to me. Lots of "Ball State" and "Miami of Ohio" and "Bethune Cookman" kind of out of conference games. We may or may finish 7-6 like A&M did for them last year, but I don't know that it's a night and day difference. Biggest issue for them is how comically bad FSU is. But other than that, ACC schedules are...well, ACC schedules.
Billy recruited okay in years one and two but he couldn’t get the wins he needed to keep the ball rolling and recruits have lost faith. Unfortunately for him and us, it’s over now and it’s just a matter of time. I wanted him to succeed but there is virtually no chance of that now. This recruiting class will sink our future. It’s like we’re on probation again and you know what that did to us. We are teetering on the abyss.
I don't think it's that dire. Unless the NIL donors have dried up due to poor results, UF even with a poor coach is an attractive place to play. I just can't see us finishing as low as 50 whether Napier stays or goes.
Social media, the new playoff system and our irrelevance regarding it as well a concerted effort from Kirby/Georgia and Mario/Miami to kick florida while down seems to make our current failing pretty damn significant. Just feels like today's 24/7 sports world applies constant pressure whereas before there was a true off season to rebound from a poor year or two. Just my opinion. Probably feels worse than it is
I don't understand the point in watching press conferences to begin with. There is no honesty there, regardless of wins or losses. Unless Spurrier is at the podium.
Yeah, Ward clearly fumbled in the Louisville game which they returned for the tying TD late in the fourth. The refs turned into Lee Corso and said, not so fast my friend!
