Should be a felony (really multiple felonies). If they let him plead it down to “community service” only that would be a bit of a joke. Should be treated like the 1/6 insurrectionists, basically. Not as bad as the ones who attacked Capitol police, to be sure. Threatening elderly ladies with a machete? That’s still pretty damn bad. Dude needs to see jail for a year. Maybe he learns something. Go light on these fu$@ers and we’ve seen they’ll keep escalating.

One of the charges is a felony, the aggravated assault-deadly weapon. Assuming no prior record, he won't come close to scoring out to prison under Florida's Criminal Punishment Code (aka sentencing guidelines.) Perhaps if he's assigned a judge who is so outraged at these circumstances he'll jail him, but that's probably not likely. Maybe some weekends in county jail, but I don't foresee him going to prison, especially in a larger, less rural county like Duval.

Maybe I’m missing what happened, but was this near a polling place or intimidating voters? Wouldn’t there be charges associated with that!? Or was this some random location?

This is precisely why we need mail-in ballots and extensive early voting opportunities. Imagine if there was only 1 day to vote, and the bullies showed up to antagonize those at known opposition precincts (where there was “friendly” police who looked away—the way it used to be.

Yelling at a kid was stupid. but hardly comparable to this criminal activity. Not a great “whataboutism”. The other woman yanked that moron girl out of there pretty quick, but you can see several yelling at the man. That tells me he’s the likely instigator.

The person that originally posted this here had a totally bs tweet that falsely identified the woman as a DNC activist paid to scream at babies (wut?). As so often happens, they doxxed the wrong person. Instead, it appears the man being yelled at was the activist heckler. That doesn’t excuse the woman’s behavior, she was an idiot who likely gave the man the exact reaction he was looking for. But if you are going to stir shit up, probably shouldn’t tote small children, unless you are planning to use a child as a prop…

Yes, it was in the 1A area of a polling place. I'm not sure in this type of location serves as an enhancer or is a separate offense. The charges I listed are what he was arrested for. The State can always add charges, drop them or change them.

Right. The dude with the toddler had a microphone. Clearly starting shit with Harris supporters at a Harris rally. Totally within his rights but what kind of psychopath brings their toddler to their political protest?

I have to wonder if this is motivated in some degree by Trump telling his hate meeting rally attendees to be violent towards protesters?

Plus 60 days in the county jail. CS is a hassle, and also a joke in most jurisdictions.
