The real Donald Trump is irrelevant to his supporters in MAGA world. To them he is a genius capable of working miracles. They probably believe that their Orange God is capable of returning to America to what it was in the 1950s when women and racial minorities knew their place and "foreigners" were few and far between.

It’s funny, the reason I was on this so quickly and strongly here was because I have known a number of PR people over the years and knew exactly what the reaction was gonna be. They are hypersensitive to criticism of that island. And I’m not even saying hypersensitive in a bad way, it just is what it is, they take jokes like that as a personal affront, and there’s not really recovery from it. Some of course will take it in stride, but for many, he might as well call a PR woman a fat pig, or a man the P word. It’s why Rick Scott came out so quickly distancing himself, he knew too. You could almost feel it as a tipping point for a lot of people with Trump. Like this was finally the bridge too far.

I think you're stereotyping Puerto Ricans for no other reason than to hang on to your delusions.

I'm sure the people that love to put PR flag stickers on their cars can take a 'joke' from a gringo doofus calling their place of birth a disgusting trash pit

The comedian is not my kind of humor. He seems like one of those make fun of everybody comedians. I did not like the Puerto Rico joke at all and it was extremely ill timed.

However, according to your article, it appears he was not vetted. Someone uploading the script to the Teleprompter noticed the Harris comment and the campaign decided to cut it out. That doesn’t mean that they vetted his entire monologue.

I looked up Paula White’s house. If you live in her neighborhood, congratulations on your success!

I remember when Apopka was not much more than a wide spot in the road. By the way, when I was in high school as a plumber’s helper, I dug the trench for the waterline from the street to the McDonald’s on 441 when it was being built. :D

What do you mean by vetting? He was selected as a speaker by somebody on the campaign. Presumably, they knew who he was. Then after that, the campaign had a campaign representative cut elements of the speech as it was uploaded. What else would be necessary for him and his speech to be considered "vetted?"

A totally histrionic and disingenuous over-reaction to a joke....phony virtue signaling. I am a Puerto Rican BTW...
