If it wasn't Hinchcliffe's routine, it would be some other iteration of "Trump is a Nazi." They would have found something. That's clearly their desperate modus operandi at this stage. So just know that even without Hinchcliffe's stupid jokes, the media would still be feigning outrage over something and equating it to Trump racism, misogyny or bigotry of some kind. In fact, Hinchcliffe's poor taste jokes might actually end up being a net positive, serving to distract the media from attacking Trump himself with some sort of other manufactured outrage.

False. You could hear the groans in the audience and Hinchcliffe (twice at least) lamented during the routine that he wasn't being well received by the Trump audience after he told those jokes.

Nahhh... when a comedian verbally acknowledges a crowd isn't receiving his joke well, that tells you he knew they didn't appreciate the joke.
