How will either side handle the Election Loss?

The title explains this topic really well. Yes I am very political and this is a political topic, but is one I hope is more of a general discussion. One that does not involve taking partisan sides.

You all have seen, I am very opinionated on my opinions with this Election. I'll admit that I go hard on political topics. Despite what many of you believe, it's not due to hatred or intolerance, but fear of what we are on the verge of losing with this Election. Yes immigration is my #1 issue, as I fear continuing to let in millions and millions of immigrants will ultimately destroy the United States and the culture I grew up with and love to this day. I do not think it is coincidental that many of the communities that are majority Hispanic, look more like a Central America or South American slum, or a favela in Brazil, than the United States. I fear that is the future of the United States on its current path, that of a country that looks indistinguishable from the second and third world countries that these Hispanic immigrants ironically are trying to escape.

With that said, while I believe Trump will ultimately win the Election, I have had to take time to acknowledge at least the possibility he will lose. I'm sure most people on both sides have thought about the possibility of their candidate not winning the Election.

This is where the aggressive rhetoric, on both sides, will be felt the most. I am being honest with you when I say I see political violence after the Election. I have made plans to stay with a friend on Election night who has a house well outside any urban areas here in Florida. To me it's inevitable.

Most would agree that the U.S. is currently severely split, with 40% decent to hardcore Republican, 40% decent to hardcore Democrat and the 20% in between. So here's the thing, regardless of who wins the Election, 40% of the U.S. population is going to believe that life as they knew it just ended with this Election. If you're on the right, you will believe that Kamala Harris will usher in unchecked immigration which will bring with it increased crime and poverty. You also believe Kamala Harris will bring in big government crackdowns on core rights such as free speech and the right to own firearms. If you're on the left, you will believe that Donald Trump will usher in an authoritarian regime. You believe Donald Trump will cause mass deportations and jailing of political enemies.

With the current rhetoric, Election Day won't be the end of the battle, it could easily just be the beginning of the battle. Now most here will be more concerned with political violence, which would happen at first. I'm more concerned about what happens after the political violence period.

Whoever loses the Election, I think that side goes into a deep depression. This country already has a mental health crisis, it might be one of the few things we all agree on. I think the amount of mental health issues, depression and even people ending their own life will absolutely skyrocket. That depression could also cause people to withdrawn, not care about the future of the country and not spend money, therefore hurting the economy.

I know for me, I am so 100% in for Trump winning, if somehow Trump does lose, I'll be honest, I don't know what I'll do. That's the part that has scared me for awhile, but has taken that long for me to admit.

What is your thought? With all the negative rhetoric, regardless of who wins, how could 40% of our country not partially break down? You are going to have 40% of the country, either way, that will believe that life as they knew it is now over?

What are your thoughts on this? Are you concerned about political violence and depression following the Election? For the side that loses, are you worried about violence, depression, anger, anxiety and even potentially worse things coming from that side?

The fact that all of this happened, along with all of the fake elector schemes and the 34 felony counts, and he’s still got a great chance at being elected president again is a dark shit stain on this country. The education system has failed in so many ways.

Well, Flagler "No White Woman" g8tr, the most fitting action you could take when Harris wins is to boycott the internet...forever. Deny those Dem cretins the benefit of your political analysis, views and opinions until time ends. It will be a time for decisive action and there would be no stronger message you could convey.

This thread again? Remember when you claimed there would be no Mardi Gras in 2025? You need to get a grip and quit projecting your doom porn fantasies on the rest of us.

Once we track down all that foreign money "sneaking" into our political system via NGOs, then that percentage will drop precipitously.

Well, Harris is going to lose, so I think the Democrats really need to re-group, re-tool. Maybe "start from scratch" as Kamala would say.

Democrat fraud and rigging were real, the felonies were phony and a cackling hyena is a threat to become president because she slept her way into becoming Willie Brown's protégé. She announced that Ukraine would become a member of NATO on February 23, 2022 (which would violate 1 of Putin's 3 red lines) and Russia invaded the next day. Result: 1 million plus dead.

Harris was admitted to law school under a hardship program she didn't qualify for because she wasn't disadvantaged
    https://www.bizpacreview.com/2024/1...rdship-program-she-didnt-qualify-for-1496829/

In fact Kamala's mother bragged about being a Brahmin, India's highest caste. Both sides of Kamala's family come from money and power.

Kamala's husband's law firm hires former CCP officials and has been active in China for decades. Her dad is a Marxist. Her mom admired Fidel Castro and Che Guevara. Her brother-in-law represented al Qaeda's John Walker Lindh. Her boyfriend Willie Brown had deep communist ties. Both of Kamala's parents were fond of the Black Panthers. Kamala's lawyer-sister Maya has represented the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which is an Islamist organization that masquerades as a moderate mainstream group.

Kamala was soft on crime. The rate of prison time to arrest was 10 times greater in San Dieg9 County than in Alemeda County when Kamala was a prosecutor there.

As San Francisco DA Kamala filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in District of Columbia v. Heller, arguing that the 2nd Amendment doesn't protect an individual’s right to own a gun.

Kamala's chief of staff Karine Jean-Pierre had ties to Acorn and the Marxist-Leninist Workers World Party

Kamala demanded that conservative groups give her a list of their major donors. The federal district Court ruled against her.

Kamala was soft on crime but rebranded it as being "smart on crime." Rapes went up 64% when she was California DA.

Kamala claimed illegal immigration is not a crime.

Kamala violated senate ethics rules on fundraising.

Kamala compared ICE to the KKK.

    And so on.

Trump is a patriot, Harris is a disease.

I needed this quote. It's why I'm going on a little bit of a hiatus from GC for a while - certainly beyond your election and potentially a while longer.

At the end of the day, it's politics. It's just one aspect of our lives and most of what we all get hot under the collar arguing about doesn't hugely affect our day to day lives anyway. We argue principle, theory but in reality, much of what we say never touches us meaningfully anyway.

I applaud your collective stamina to want to argue with one another. The reason I'm here is 'cos I'm proud to be UF alumni - one of the best things I ever did in my life.

I wish you all well - and peaceful outcomes whatever happens (not just as I'm out in Dallas in mid November! :D )
Life's too short to hate other Gators.
Much love to you all, no matter who got your vote.

Thank you Limey, for your timely message. May we all take it to heart as we perhaps consider our own reasons for reading and posting on this forum. It has become increasingly hostile and the vile charges made by some participants targeting their political opposites indicate there may / will be a rough season ahead. Some even foolishly believe it will solve the nation's "problems."

You are right, life is too short to spoil our own life and the lives of others with hate, be it actual or projected. It's all the same. The animosity, hostility, and attitudes of angry retribution exhibited on this forum alarm me, and it appears it is worsening to the point of violence. I pray not. May our good sense and desire for domestic tranquility sustain us through disruptive post election provocations.

    Pax

^ Well said, and I agree.

We should all clearly reject any impulses to commit violence, and should wholeheartedly and absolutely spurn any supposed "leader" who encourages violence.

If Trump wins, the left will riot and loot as usual.

If Harris wins, the right will say they cheated.

Really? That was when Trump incited his supporters to violently attack the Capitol Building, and did nothing to stop it for hours while he watched, as part of his criminal conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election.

    Hopefully.

After all, that is the only time, to my knowledge, that a major political figure incited violence and an attack on our government. At least post-Civil War.

Also the only time a sitting president tried to overturn an election.

So yeah, hopefully people don't forget about that.

    LOL?
