Not impressed with Indiana play calling at the goal line. 3 stupid runs off tackle that got stoned by Huskies. Haven’t seen any of the Cignetti offense but they seemed afraid to throw. Announcers said only Army has rushed for more TDs than Indiana. Doesn’t sound like a wide open offense to me EDIT: this post will not age well Go Hoosiers
They don't have their starting QB and are still beating Washington by 2 scores. Cignetti is the man. I will not hear otherwise. Indiana was trash. They are undefeated 7 games into the season for only the 3rd time EVER in their history.
Yeah forgot they lost their starting QB. This is the first time I’ve watched an Indiana game so totally unfamiliar with them
In their history they usually played Ohio St or similar earlier in the season. I'm not ready to call him "the man" until I see more but he's on his way.
Laughable, honestly. Indiana has done everything you'd expect a dominant team to do by this point in the season. Even if they lose to OSU, they've had a REMARKABLE year. They look like the best team in the Big 10 so far and are having a historic season. OSU is barely beating Nebraska by 5 pts in the 4th qtr right now, after Cignetti's squad boat raced them by 45 a week ago. Also, this isn't exactly new for Cignetti. Dominates everywhere he goes. Par for the course. He has turned around another program yet again, and one that was bottom of the barrel in it's conference. And this isn't year 3 - it's year freaking 1. He will win coach of the year, deservedly so.
I wonder what more some fans here expect a coach to do in year 1 at a school like Indiana. Meanwhile Nebraska just took the lead at The Ohio St in the 4Q...
What's laughable is the notion that we haven't seen coaches do this kind of thing before and then subsequently suck even before the current era where you can import a large portion of a team like Cignetti has done. Maybe he's the real deal, maybe not. We'll see.
He's the real deal. Keep waiting for a magical qualifier, whatever it is. Keep moving the goal posts. You do you. Dude has already vastly over achieved what anyone thought was possible at IU. His team is playing better than any other team in that conference.
Considering the goal posts haven't been moved at all throughout this discussion I don't know what you're on about. He hasn't vastly overachieved anything, yet. If he does then I'll have no problem acknowledging it.
I'm beginning to believe. I watched a clip of the guy. Very impressive. He said: "I'm not interested in potential; I'm interested in production." "
Thought it was funny - the announcers pointed out that Indiana has basically blown out all their wins - and said Cignetti was asked if he’d like to see his team tested in a close game. His answer - “not really”
Most swagger I've seen in a potential UF coach since Spurrier. Sad thing is... they're very likely playoff bound. Not sure how or if we'd navigate that...
His interview on GameDay was great as well. Saban really praised him, his success, consistent confidence, and aspirations.
