Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader who stunned Israel and the world as an architect of the 2023 massacre and hostage-taking that set off the devastating Gaza war and made him a top target for Israel, was killed by Israel’s military on Oct. 16 in southern Gaza. He was 61.

A statement by Israeli’s miliary said Mr. Sinwar was killed in an operation launched after intelligence reports identified suspected locations of senior Hamas figures. The statement gave no further details. Hamas did not immediately confirm his death.

 

It took Israel 1 year to find and execute justice against the murderer of its people. That is amazing.

'We were completely at Hezbollah's mercy,' former UN peacekeeper says

A former United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) soldier, under the alias Michael, testified that UNIFIL was “totally subject to Hezbollah” when he worked in Lebanon 10 years ago in an interview with Danish news site B.T. on Sunday. UNSTO, founded in 1948, is the first peacekeeping mission the United Nations ever created; with the mission of "monitoring ceasefires, supervising armistice agreements, preventing isolated incidents from escalating and assisting other UN peacekeeping operations in the region to fulfil their respective mandates.

The soldier had been tasked with observing and reporting violations of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 of 2006, which called for southern Lebanon to be without Hezbollah.

Despite the organization’s mission, Michael reported, "We were totally subject to Hezbollah. We clearly had limited freedom of movement. For example, we never operated after dark for fear of Hezbollah. So they had free time in the evening and night hours.”

Michael also reported that UNIFIL and UNTSO workers had their access to cities in southern Lebanon restricted by Hezbollah, who would stop them when they tried to enter certain areas. "They simply blocked the road. They were not visibly armed but aggressive, and it was quite clear that they were members of Hezbollah - we knew very well who decided things, especially in the Shiite cities,” said Michael. “They didn't want us to see what they were doing.”

 

I saw the video. A drone flew into a partially demolished building and observed him just sitting in a chair on the second floor though his head was wrapped so they didn’t know it was him. He was injured and threw something at the drone. The drone left after that and then a tank blew up the building he was in.

Fars News, affiliated with Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, said that Israel attacked several military bases located in the western and southern part of Tehran. IRNA, Iran’s state news agency, reported that Imam Khomeini International Airport has been operational and that the civil aviation agency has not issued an order to cancel flights.

Surely, no more than 50 of those planes returned safely to Israel. I mean, I’ve been told to expect those kinds of casualties if the U.S. ever has to strike Iran. Hezbollah has been using UNIFIL as human shields. It won’t leave. It’s mission has failed— Hezbollah is south of the Latani River. UNIFIL is now complicit

 

'Backbone of Iran's missile industry' destroyed by IAF strikes on Islamic Republic

The Israel Air Force struck a dozen targets in Iran that were used to produce solid fuel for long-range ballistic missiles as part of its retaliatory military action against the Islamic Republic, severely harming Tehran's ability to replenish its inventory, it was reported on Saturday night.

The targets struck were sophisticated equipment that Iran could not produce on its own and had to be purchased from China, Walla reported. The targets were a critical component of Iran's ballistic missile program, Walla cited three anonymous Israeli sources as saying. Israeli sources also stated that four S-300 air defense batteries were attacked that were in strategic locations that protected nuclear and energy facilities in Tehran during the operation. A factory for the production of drones and a facility in the Parchin military complex were also attacked, the latter of which saw in the past research and development activities for nuclear weapons.

The Arabic independent online newspaper Elaph reported Israel targeted a secret ballistic missile factory in Iran, destroying a large number of heavy fuel mixers used to power Kheibar and Haj Qasem missiles - both of which were fired by Iran at Israel at the beginning of the month. The report also claimed that the S-300 air defense batteries that were attacked were Russian-made and destroyed radars that feed these systems and others in Syria and Iraq.

The report said that the ballistic missile factory was completely destroyed. One source told Elaph that it was the "backbone of Iran's missile industry" and that Israel had "put it out of service," also reporting that each heavy fuel mixer destroyed was estimated to be at least two million dollars and about twenty mixers of this type were destroyed.

 

Israel did the civilized world a huge favor.

 

Looking more and more like this was a negotiated pinprick to help Israel save face.

 

I wonder how many more drone factories there are? Ukraine probably hopes Israel would have taken out more factories.

 

The point is, after destroying Iran’s Russian-made IADS with contemptuous ease and suffering zero friendly casualties, Israel can hit whatever it wants next time if Iran desires to keep the game going.

 

But wipe out the Palestinians from block to block. Amirite?
