It's not arrogant...or wasn't intended to be. I simply firmly believe there are players on the bench, or will be if she hits, that deserve to be in the hitting lineup. That's our flexibility. You have to find a way to play considerably more than nine players or you will eventually have problems with kids not getting a chance. Keagan pitches. She has never been near the best or most consistent hitter in four years I've watched her in travel on any of her teams. The jump to college is even greater. I just don't see having Keagan as a two-way player, even though she probably would like that, as the wisest decision. And, you're right. Walton knows more than me.
Ariel caught mostly in travel but she also played third, short and second. Each with the same skill level. That's one of the reasons I said before she ever hit campus that people were way underestimating her. I have no doubt she could shine in the outfield. She has the arm. But, last thing we need is another outfielder.
Somebody made an error and JU tied it 1-1 with an unearned run. I know it is hopeless to think we would broadcast the game but why can't we provide live stats on StatBroadcast? I'll rephrase that...we can...why don't we.
Gators up 4-0 in second game. Kara apparently pitching very well. Kenleigh had a rbi and Ava had a three run bomb. Edit: Mia drove in another with a double.
Mia having a double is hopeful. I feel like if she ever can even out some instead of homer or bust she can be productive. Reminds me of Jordan Roberts. She bgain getting more base hits in her latter years
Sheesh. When I posted "somebody made an error" I was going to add "hope it isn't Mia". With Tim's career long emphasis on defense he has to be going nuts about now. He might put up with hitting .176 (and did) but there has to be a breaking point.
And credit Erickson at 1B for not cutting off -- the ball was coming right at her, she stepped aside letting it bounce at her feet and it trickled home for the close out. After the inning CTW had a big discussion with the AK, which seemed to be a teaching moment. I was expecting 1B to cut the ball off so wasn't assessing possible obstruction, but perhaps that was the discussion.
I had hoped that she turned a corner at the end of last year, when she had some clutch hits. That said, I don't know how much this can be discussed with the rule about players and their families reading this forum.
