Plenty of talk already of bigger programs looking at Kade Bell to be their OC next season. He’s done a great job with the Pitt offense in year one.

 

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a game with so many pick-6s. Nuts that Pitt had 31 points at one point with only 83 yards of offense.

 

I do to. Just don’t think they would be undefeated after 7 games. But, realize that’s just my opinion.

 

Agree with that. Not likely but also not impossible.

 

The problem with statements like "playing an SEC schedule" is the the bigger conference means schedules are more unbalanced than before. Would Pitt be undefeated against UF's schedule? Of course not. Against A&M's or LSU's schedule? Certainly possible.

 

Narduzzi has done a solid job there.

 

Yes, I did paint with a broad brush there. But Pitt played its first ranked team last night while A@M will be LSU’s 4th ranked opponent and LSU is A&M’s 3rd. Albeit not all of those were SEC opponents but I like Arkansas, S. Carolina, even Mississippi States chances against Pitt and if they played us after the 4rd game we would have a good chance to beat them. Graham Mertz would not have thrown 3 interceptions, 2 of which were pick-6’s, on our first 3 possessions: Lagway either, pretty sure of that. As for Missouri and Ole Miss, the other two SEC teams those two played, I would say they had a pretty fair chance of beating Pitt. And I also think A&M and LSU would have chance of beating Pitt.
Nothing for sure and I respect your opinion. I like Pitt if for no other reason Kade Bell. And I also think they are a good , well coached team. Just don’t think they would be undefeated at this point in the SEC: even if they didn’t have to play Georgia, Texas, Tennessee or Bama.

 

Transitive properties don't work in sports, especially college football. Who knows if Syracuse needed those pick sixes. The game would have changed otherwise and maybe the offense gets called differently. As we have seen we stunk it up against miami and aTm at home, meanwhile vaTech went into miami and should have won. Cal beat the hell out of miami for 3 quarters. Kentucky has routinely played Georgia and made them look average while they blew us out. aTm lost to notre dame.

This is all respectful banter. You don't have to preface anything when we debate this stuff. Just my opinion anyway. This stuff is all a diversion.

 

You are right, antny1. And I have some time on my hands today. Can’t go fishing or do yard work because we are baby sitting our 19 month old granddaughter and she’s in the middle of a long, (I hope), nap.
