Gators Micah Handlogten Provides Positive Update on Injury Recovery
    good free article.

"“I mean, it sucks,” he said. “I want to be able to play this year, but it's something I've already accepted. It's a new role I've already accepted too, go out there and just support the guys and be the No. 1 supporter.”

As for a potential timetable, Handlogten expects to return to practice as a non-contact participant by mid-December..."

Micah is wise not to come back this season because he'd be so far behind in conditioning and reps, and there's almost no chance he'd get back into the starting five this season. I'm glad he's working on using both feet. That will help him improve jump shooting and will put less stress on the fracture. If he just works on jump shots, free throws, footwork, and positioning for defense, he'll be an NBA prospect after his junior season.
    Love the guy!

Apart from offensive skillset issues, the kid really needs to ramp up his physicality and ability to defend without fouling to compete in this conference. Hope the staff is able to work effectively with him in that regard during this gap year.

Umm... he was already competing in this conference. He had the highest rebounds per minute average in the SEC.

Can you imagine how our front-court will look next year with 7'1 Micah back, 6'11 Condo, 6'9 Haugh, 6'11 Chinyelu, 6'9 Alexis, 7'9 Rioux and 6'11 Micic all available? That's 7 bigs that average 7 feet.

Of course if no one goes pro, which would be fine given they’d have a stellar year

Yeah, if Condo is all we know / hope he can be, he'll be gone.

Selfishly, maybe he's only like 78% of that and comes back. Then goes like #12 in the '26 draft and is rookie of the year. ;)

    Win / win.

I love condon. And last year he made so many plays by sheer effort. Great for college but he has too holes to really dent the nba - needs a solid mid range jumper, threat from 3, passing out of the post, and 15-20lbs to bang. Sure, he could go after this year and get drafted as a mid-rounder but why not stay, make nil, and maybe go first round? A fan can dream and I’m hoping he has a great season leading to a dominant one!

Who knows? Joakim, Horfy, and Brewer all could have bolted for the NBA millions after their sophomore seasons, yet loved the college experience so much they all came back. And this was before a kid could make big NIL money.

Rioux at center, Micah at power forward, Condon at small forward, Haugh at shooting guard, and ... okay, you got me, no idea who would be best at point when we go big. But does it really matter :)

you might be onto something there. With all that height let's go small at PG with 6'5 Aberdeen

the thing with Condo is a natural athlete and competitor and just happens to also be 6'11. It's not easy to find a 7-footer that athletic, skilled, with high sports IQ and a tough as nails. If he didn't have a growth spurt he'd be playing pro in arguably the roughest sport on earth

Agreed. I was a bit tongue in cheek there, but I do have high hopes for the man. A junior Condo could be a senior Castleton or more.
