Sure, you were really committed to Democrats sticking with Biden so much that you have no choice now. Or, you still aren't telling the truth.

Yes, actually, that is exactly what you are doing. 10% tariff on all imports. Biggest tax increase proposed in generations in the US. Assuming, of course, that you use products or services.

They didn’t have to have another round of primaries. They could’ve had an open convention, just like in the old days before primaries determined everything. Potential candidates could have spoken at the convention, and then the delicates vote.

The Democratic National Committee had decided that the candidate was going to be Harris. Immediately after Biden withdrew, 60 current or former members of the DNC sent letters to the candidates urging them to support Harris. While technically the delegates were not obligated to do that, at the urging of the DNC they got in line.

They had an open convention. She won. Easily.

She would do well to hire you. While many of us rarely if ever agree with your positions we would all agree that you present them well and and at least use some logic to get to it.

She can’t even get a point across

I got what she was trying to get across. Trouble is she tries very hard to sound very profound, it comes across as contrived and fake.

So who was running against her? How could anyone throw their hat in the ring if the DNC had already declared her the preferred candidate?

The power brokers had it wrapped up for her long before the convention started. Hardly “open”.
A big plus for her was the huge war chest amassed when Biden was on the top of the ticket that only she would get.

The less cynical answer is they boxed themselves in when they lied to us about Biden. I told the board for weeks that it would be Kamala. People were talking about Michelle Obama, Newsom and others. It was always going to be Kamala, because they weren't going to break the chain of succession with a conventional floor fight, especially when it's a female VP of color. Michelle Obama was never a viable option, nor were any others. The debate disaster forced Biden to defacto resign, which meant Kamala became the new leader of the Democrat party overnight.

The more cynical approach says they knew Joe was going to fall apart at the debate, but they kept him in the seat just long enough so that they could push Kamala through without a primary. They scheduled the debate to give her enough time to mount a campaign for the general. I don't know that we've ever had a presidential debate before in June.

Either way, the Democrats screwed the pooch by lying to the American people about Biden's condition. They're losing a lot of voters due to all the lies they've attempted to slip past us. Voters are catching on.

I wouldn’t go quite that far. Trump has pushed even further over the edge as of late.

Nobody serious ran because they couldn't win.
She consolidated the support of the party almost immediately and got people to rally behind her. That's called good politics.

Yeah, so comfortable some wanted to dump her earlier in the year. She was doing such a bang up job as VP she had been pulled into a closet for two years.

Then Biden falls on his face in the debate and suddenly she’s the greatest Dem nominee since Obama.

Two reasons she was the pick:
    1) She was the only candidate that would get the Biden/Harris funds.

    2) If a white guy or girl had been picked above her the racist cry would have been heard on the moon.
The Dems couldn’t risk pissing off that part of their voting block.

All based on tactics not on skill, performance or resume.

The truth is the truth, whether or not you like it. The delegates could have voted for anybody. Instead, within a week's time, she raised an insane amount of money and had the majority of delegates committed to her.

The powers that be in the Dem party decided it would be Harris. They made it clear and the delegates just fell in line.
Other possible candidates didn’t get vocal as they either were hoping for the VP slot or were afraid to jump in late, causing chaos in the Dem party and not having a huge war chest to run a campaign in such short time.

You’re smart enough to understand that.

I’d bet if Biden didn’t seek re-election she would have been about 5th in a typical primary. Disagree?

The "powers that be" didn't donate $200 million to her campaign in the first week.
