Since VP Harris is going around with Liz Chaney this week to target center-right Haley voters, there is one consistent message I've heard coming from a lot of those types of voters. It is "What policy trade off is Harris willing to make in order to make it worth my vote?" So I was wondering what policy trade offs Harris voters would be willing to make in order to win the election. Let's assume she needs to make two of the following eight. Which two would you, as a Harris voter, be willing to see her make a concession on if it would mean she beats Trump?

    1. SCOTUS nominees - Produce a list of centrist judges that she would nominate if a seat opened up.
    2. Abortion - Agree to pass a law that limits abortion to the first two trimesters with the only exceptions for rape and health of the mother for the third.
    3. Immigration - Promising to build a wall with Mexico and deport convicted felons. No path to citizenship included.
    4. Military Spending - DoD is funded for 4 years at 2% above inflation.
    5. Fracking & LNG - Promise to expand Fracking leases on federal lands and approve and speed up development of LNG export facilities.
    6. Nuclear Power - Promise to work with the DOE to speed up approval and construction of new Nuclear power plants.
    7. School Choice - Agree to a federal law that ties school funding to the child and the parents get to choose what school to send their child to with it. (Assume there is an income cap at $400k).
    8. Gun Control - Promising a Federal law ensures concealed carry reciprocity between all states and territories and no additional gun control initiatives.

I did not think she would but this is more about what Democrats would be willing to give up.

I don't think she can go far enough left to satisfy the Trump leftists. Their hatred of free trade seemingly knows no bounds. Their heads might explode if they see a Chinese EV on American roads.

If Harris was Republican and stood for all that and Trump was a Democrat I’d vote for her. I’d vote democrat down ballot though to thwart most of that nonsense though. What a shit list.

Speaking for myself, of course. It's not about policy, it's about the person. Trump is totally unfit to be president and is a danger to our country.

I got that. But we are not talking about David French types here. These are centrist R voters that are deciding between not voting for POTUS and voting for Harris. You have to give them a reason to actually vote for her.

So not willing to to compromise on any of those issues to ensure Harris beats Trump. Is that correct?

How about add Cheney to a major cabinet position in the Harris administration? Like Secretary of State? I think that would be a compromise worth making.

Building the Great Wall of Mexico is just moronic. Our border with Mexico is 15% of the length of the Great Wall of China. It took China 2300 years to build their wall. Scaling that back to 15%, our wall should take 345 years. We do have some better machinery to build walls than they used to, but China had a huge number of people working on their wall. The modern cost to build the Great Wall is estimated to be about $100 billion, but I think that is if you build it in China, where 40% of the population lives on less than $1800 a year. The fortieth percentile salary in the U.S. is about $42k, so scale up the cost by about 24 (42k/1.8k), and you get $2.4 trillion. And that's before you complete the environmental impact study, which has no correlation in the Chinese building protocol. Who would be stupid enough to commit $2.4 trillion and 345 years to build this wall? In 345 years (the year 2369), Mexico may be the more prosperous country (especially if we keep wasting money like this), and Americans will be trying to sneak over the wall to find a good job, while Mexican INS officers try to keep us out. Wouldn't that be ironic? Advertising in Europe could say, "Come visit Mexico, and see the wall that Donald Trump started that keeps dirty Americans out of the Promised Land and keeps them in the hellhole country where they belong!"

Or we could decide not to build the idiot wall and continue to be a prosperous country. Your call. :)

She was campaigning with Alberto Gonzalez last week. Most people don't remember him. The ones that do remember him remember him resigning in disgrace. I suppose her faux support of fracking and building a wall didn't do the trick, so someone in her campaign came up with the brilliant idea of campaigning with the least popular Republicans of all time. What a clown.

I'm taking this as policy's she would implement to gain a Haley vote?

#1 The issue here is that the judges trumph and the heritage foundation put in there is extreme right. How do you balance the court now?
#2 is Roe v Wade - so I think she already is good with that.
#3 The Biden admin got Mexico to pay $1.5 billion in high tech border security. Welcome to the 21st century- Done

The ones I am a hard no on is 7 and 8.

    So I guess 2 and 3 ;)

Before she saw trumph try to overturn a free and fare election. She has repeatedly said they may not agree on policy, but she just said that we need a good leader and Harris will be that. She sees what we all see, and you all are blind to.

    Try try again.
