Is that your interpretation of what you are doing? Fundamentalists need a Jesus that answers all of their questions and is as simple as possible, so as not to raise other challenging questions. It has more to do with their own needs than with the actual Bible or the teachings of Jesus.

But the real Jesus taught a lot of things that would be antithetical to those who need hierarchical social organization and utilize established Christianity to develop that. He chose his disciples specifically to include those that were less respected by society. He spoke specifically against religious authorities and in favor of the fundamental goodness of the least of us.

By your own admission, you "have faith", which means "you believe", and do not know for certain. That is contradictory to your declaration here of what is absolutely true about Jesus. I mean... if we are using logic.

I don’t blame you. If Jesus were back already he’d be on porn message boards trying to reach the unbelievers with posts about big jugs too. Robinson is just ahead of time.

    turn the other cheek
Give ceasar what he is due
Finding a rich man that will go to heaven is like finding a needle in a haystack
His acceptance of the poor and downtrodden
His message was much more about tolerance and forgiveness vs beating people over the head about sinful behavior.

Christian Voter Guide (by Brian Zahnd)

    1. The political process, while necessary, has little to do with how God is saving the world.

    2. The fate of the kingdom of God does not depend upon political contests.

    3. Don’t be naïve, political parties are more interested in Christian votes than they are in Christian values.

    4. The bottom line for political parties is power. The bottom line for a Christian is love. And therein lies the rub.

    5. While in pursuit of the Ring of Power, you are not permitted to abandon the Sermon on the Mount.

    6. If your political passion makes it hard for you to love your neighbor as yourself, you need to turn it down a notch.

    7. Your task is to bring the salt of Christian civility to an ugly and acrimonious political process.

    8. To dismember the body of Christ over politics is a grievous sin.

    9. Exercise your liberty to vote your conscience and conviction, while accepting that other Christians will do the same and vote differently than you.

    10. It’s more important that your soul be filled with love than it is for your political team to win the game.

    11. If the entire basis of your religious belief is about built around the concept of being good to one another, think carefully about the words and actions of the people you vote for?

PS. Number 7 is pretty arrogant. Christians don't "own" civility...

You couldn't say that they were voting for a convicted felon, who was charged with about 50 other felonies, impeached twice, and adjudicated guilty of sexual assault. In addition to being a pornstar-banging serial adulterer, who admitted to sexually assaulting women.

That only applies to the guy that YOU are voting for.

Dems all out attack on Christianity is leading to their demise. As I mentioned, I am not a religious man, nor do I consider myself a Christian. But if one’s religion makes them a better person, how could I not be all for it? At the minimum, Christ provides a base from which one derives their values. By waging war against Christians, Democrats do not have a moral base to keep them grounded. Which is why you see crazy ideas like support for youth genital mutilation and puberty blockers. If they had a moral compass, they wouldn’t succumb to these radical post-modern ideologies that will no doubt cause a ton of blowback for Dems down the road, if it hasn’t begun already.

And feeding the poor and the hungry. What you do to the least of our brothers that you do unto me. Modern Christian’s seem to skip that part.

no, that is not all he cared about. Although faith in God was the priority and all-encompassing, he very much cared about the poor, marginalized, homeless and spent quality time with outcasts of their society. Reminder Jesus traveled himself as homeless. He was dependent on good will and charitable outreach.

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
