I keep seeing contradictory statements about Alexis. Some say he's skilled offensively, others say he brings no scoring to the table, except for put-backs.

Sounds like Chinyelu, Haugh, and Clayton were the stars.

On Alexis, I haven’t seen much of him. What reports and the stats say is that he is a bad FT shooter, but gets his points off pick and rolls and putbacks. Alexis himself has said he thinks he can be a three point threat, so we will see.

In any event, the absolute key is Condon. He can score and pass out of the low post, pass and drive out of the high post in our Princeton motion stuff, and hit his jumpers. He is probably as skilled offensively as Castleton was at his peak. Maybe not Horford/Noah level, but I am as bullish on him as any big at this stage since them.

Well, Noah and Horford were top-5 picks. I wouldn't lay those kinds of expectations on anyone. But yeah, he appears to have all the tools to be at least as good as Castleton and probably better. Anyway, I hope he gets over his injury quickly and sees the floor in the next scrimmage.

I can't open that so can you please share some of the notes?
I'm guessing that, with Condo on the bench, Haugh started at the 4, Chins at the 5. I saw a clip of Haugh burying a 3, so that's a good sign.

How did Chinyelu look? Hopefully our quick guards can get him some easy buckets this year

Anyone know what time the Charleston game is today and whether it will be an open scrimmage this time?

I feel like Condo surpassed Castleton offensively now. Just a little quicker and more versatile. Better handles and can hit the occasional three pointer. The thing about Castleton is while he didn’t have a very diverse bag, what he did he did very well.

I think Castleton was a bit more polished but if you compare a sophomore Castleton with what we expect to see with Condo as a sophomore, I agree he’s at least on that level - while also being a better athlete and more agile, his upside is that much more. You can see Castleton’s limitations now in the NBA. I don’t think Condo will have that problem. He’s very athletic for a 7-footer and just a gamer overall

I can summarize it my thoughts on it very quickly. Castleton wasn’t and still isn’t able to put the ball on the floor and score face to face with the defender. He would most likely need to slow down and turn his back to the basket and make a post move using his pivot foot to score unless he got an assisted basket. Condon showed he can somewhat do it last year, but I’m curious to see how far he progressed.

Yes I agree with that assessment. If you look at whose ahead of him, Jaxson Hayes, he's just a lot more explosive and athletic too. CC is great against lesser athletes, but just not quite there to get him in a rotation, at least not yet with his limited skillset.

Back to the scrimmage - does anyone know if it has already been played today?

I believe that the Lakers waived CC.

Damn. didn't see that. Hopefully he'll find a fit somewhere
At least he got the $500k for winning the In-Season Tournament last year.

Yeah looks like they signed Quincy Olivari instead. Admittedly not a bad move for them.
