Ahh... certain posters favorite way to pass time: speculating on which coach MIGHT come to Florida IF we fire our current coach and who MIGHT do better than our current coach, all the while ignoring the savior coach's prior record.

A curious activity. Dumb, but curious.

I'm not sold on Kiffin. I'm open to see how this season plays out. CBN has brought in arguably 4 #1 players in Baugh, Mccray, Lagway, and Cormani.
Prior to the KY game, since we now have Lagway full time, I posted if CBN decides to open it up, we could run away with the KY game and beat them handily. The problem is in the past he hadn't done that... Well last night he did. The turnaround in the D and O is remarkable. I want to see how the rest of the year plays out. If the team continues to play the way we did against KY, CBN himself will be relegating this thread to the dustbin of history

To someone who only sees this team for a few hours on Saturday it certainly doesn't look like this team is quitting on Napier. Unlike some fans.

I would love to see Cormani turn into that, but a #1 player? He couldn't hack it at CU and has barely played thus far at UF. Baugh had one good game. Lagway is obviously a Top 5 QB in the nation in the making, hands down, no question. We are getting ahead of ourselves I think based on a game against a demoralized and far less talented Kentucky. Can we beat someone noteworthy first before we sing CBN's praises? He has given us so many reasons not to sing his praises. I think he needs to earn it first, doesn't he?

Baugh is one of the top, IMO #1, Freshman RB in the league. I said so same day after the Orange & Blue game. McClain was a true NO 1. He couldn't hack it at Colorado because his head was messed up. Apparently, he is getting his stuff together now and i give CBN for sticking with him and showing him how to become a serious football player and grow up, and i give Cormani credit for doing it.
When you say "can we beat someone noteworthy"... I thought i said "I want to see how the rest of the year plays out".. I double checked and did say that. Why not sing his praises for last night, the O & D looked light years better than it has in the past, and KY is a very good Defensive Team and they also have a very good O Line. I don't know if last night was a one off, or this was a turning point. It's going to be exciting to see if we continue to do play at this level. How this relates to CBN's future .. It absolutely does.

I agree, give him the year and see where we are at the end. The players clearly want to play for him. I think the turning point was last week for the players. That loss was squarely on the coaches. The team has played well for 2 weeks and has shown improvement.

I think Kentucky was a noteworthy yardstick, especially after dominating Tennessee in every way except for points. This was the first win against the cats since 2020 and until yesterday we were 2 and 4 vs them since 2018. They have an elite defense and we shredded that last night!

Imagine what your preferred coach Lane K will do against that demoralized and less talented Kentucky.

Since you asked, I feel mildly optimistic about stunning the Dawgs. But I don't believe CBN's seat temperature would change much by losing the WLOCP unless it's due to another head-scratching coaching error. By beating them, however, seat cools down instantly I would say and I would feel pretty good about our chances in Austin. I think we win 3 of our last 5 games, and 2 out of our final 3 games (LSU, Ole Miss and the SOW, as long as we don't lose the horses: especially #2 and some key defensive guys).
I realize we could play a 6th game, the SECC. I'm leaving that out of the equation for now.

Texas and Georgia are as sure losses as exist in this business. The best chances for a sixth win (assuming SWAC is a probable win) are Ole Miss and LSU in that order. If Napier can find a way to six wins then show some leadership with the team and mitigate another crippling mass “opt-out” before the bowl game, he may get another chance.

I’m not seeing that. I’m seeing the fanbase leaning to keeping Billy because he blew out Kentucky.

Yes to ^^^ we probably win one of the next four. georgia looked good last night, texas not really. It's fun to imagine winning 2 of the next 4 then win at fsu. I know it's not likely but maybe. The team looks better. If we were only a bit better last season we would have won two more. We only needed to be a little better to have beaten Tenn this season.

If we give him an another year after such a poor season then we deserve it. How can you justify keeping him on after going 1-6 vs good teams?

7 wins including a UGA win. 8 wins without a UGA win.

90% of them will be ready to fire Napier in 4 weeks, if not sooner.

The “fan base” that watches games and wants him fired one week and extended the next?

The only fans that really matter are nil major players and there are several who said no more nil after a&m until Billy was gone. Win over uk won’t (and shouldn’t) change that. Uga/fsu, etc? Different story.

We will have 3 years in December. 2 bad and a question mark now that will play out so we can see if we are the rising team that beat Uk or the one who was drubbed by um/a&m and threw away the ut game.

We were good enough to beat Tennessee. That loss was in no way on the players. The coaching staff let us down with some of the decisions made, shades of last year against Arkansas.

sThe coaching staff, especially on offense and special teams, has to step up for us to have a chance against UGA and Texas. The defensive staff has appeared to turn the corner after the first bi-week and played excellent the past 3 games.
