So what happens if we run the table and beat three teams that will be possibly in the top 5+ a top 10 ole miss team. Would love to throw a monkey wrench into the whole process this year… Lol.
I think another interesting question would be: If we stun the world by beating GA in 2 weeks, do we become favorites in our remaining games?
If they run the table, they make the playoffs. We should be 5-2 right now and a game away from bowl eligibility.
This. Damn shame we let the Tennessee game get away from us. We had them beat. UGA is going to be a tough out, but every other team on our schedule can be beat. The Horn's passing game will probably give us the most trouble of the rest of the bunch.
Crazy idea: sit Cormani McClain versus Georgia, and have him study ONLY Texas film now until November 9th. Then watch him pick Ewers / Manning apart in the backfield for a win in Austin.
Prior to the season start there was a graphic (from a simulation I believe) that showed UF was the only team that could lose 3 games & still make the playoff.
Just real happy we have some positivity and hope going forward. This season is kinda weird, remember UGA beat KY by 1 and showed vulnerability against MS State and Beck was NOT lights out against TX. And even the harshest critic of UF would have to admit the Gators are getting better on defense, the offensive line is blocking better, and DJL creates downfield plays. How all this translates against UGA and the rest of the schedule, I don't know, but it seems possible UF could be very competitive down the stretch.
I’m thinking this team kicks it up another notch on this bye week just like the first one. We could just shock the world yet (esp in Jax…..)
Ole miss, lsu and fsu are all realistically winnable games with this defense. I'm not so sure I'd throw the jax game in the can't win bucket either. If beck continues to turn the ball over, that could be a 1 score game late. Our Oline just has to hold up against their front and DJ has to keep pushing the ball down field. 7-5 with 5 losses against top 15 teams and 3 against the top 5 would be a heck of a turn around.
Florida would make the playoffs if we ran the table including SECCG. 100% chance if we won the SEC championship game, because they'd have to put us in. <100% chance if we lost the SEC championship game. I know this is a fun hypothetical thread, but our best win under Napier is at home versus Utah and we're going to beat 3 top 10 teams in the next four weeks, plus another top 20 team after that? But since I love statistical odds, we would probably still make it in if we lost the SECCG.
It is a crazy idea because I will not sit him on every game from this day on out. Especially with Marshall getting hurt against UK. He needs all the game time expérience that he can get.
Hopefully the bye week gets some guys healed up, would love to see ASA Turner back, and, numerous others. Jason's shoulder situation did not look good. Cormani may be a necessity for depth although I hate to see the redshirt busted.
Another hypothetical here: a) If we win 3 more games and the bowl game, does Napier earn another year? b) If we win 3 more and lose bowl game, does Napier get another year?
