But his mental decline was ignored or covered up for 3 & 1/2 years. It wasn’t until it was clear he was going to lose before everyone scrambled to make a change.

Trump's behavior speaks for itself and it's not just a single incident that would lead to the conclusion that Trump is cognitively diminished or is suffering from a severe psychiatric condition or possibly both but numerous incidents over at least the last year. The reality is that right wing media so fears that a Democrat may be elected that they're willing to overlook the obvious.

His “decline” wasn’t covered up for 3 & 1/2 years. Same dude destroyed Trump in their 2020 debates. I’m sure everyone can see his aging, hell it’s obviously hitting Trump pretty bad here too. But I still think Biden’s team must have been caught off guard by his debate performance. The only way to know would to be a fly on the wall during debate prep or some other unscripted meetings (a lot of what goes on is highly scripted). If it were that bad behind the scenes and staff were wanting to “cover it up”, you’d think they’d have made up some excuse to back out. Instead they put him out there and it was so bad it pretty much singularly ended his campaign.

We know Trump’s a narcissist who has always seemed to have trouble focusing.

That’s a far cry from senile.

At what point do you think Trump's mental declined started?

I'll grant you that Trump being a bona fide idiot makes it harder to see the slippage but even a partisan hack can see he lost his marbles.

Senile Trump will be largely indistinguishable from “full faculties” Trump. Everything he says is basically bullshit anyway.

Unless he gets so bad he develops speech aphasia (which maybe sorta seems to be happening given the totally disjointed responses he’s had at recent interviews).

Trump's cognitive decline is only half the story. He also suffers from other darker, far more worrisome forms of mental illness.

Don’t know. I’m not defending Trump nor I’m I voting for him.

While he probably hasn't reached the point where he would be clinically diagnosed as senile he certainly has declined cognitively since 2016 and even 2020. Objectively based on mental acuity alone even ignoring his strong authoritarian tendencies, his counter-productive economic proposals and his blatant racist and nativist rants he is unfit for the presidency.

Democrats with Biden until he’s getting killed in the polls against Trump: “I can’t comment on his mental faculties, I’m not a doctor.”

Democrats with Trump after he’s leading in the polls and no other fear-mongering BS has worked: “Sure, he’s largely indistinguishable from how he’s been, but he’s senile. I just know it. Trust me.”

Swayed to music for 37 minutes. That BG writer must have been sitting down when he wrote that. In other words, Trump stood up and swayed to the music for 37 minutes. I think that is a Presidential record.

Your candidate in 2020 hid in his basement for a year. Biden held only 33 press conferences during his term—only one in the last year. Trump did 88. Trump is everywhere, speaking to large audiences, barber shops, TV interviews, podcasts, charity dinners, town halls, speaking to unions, restaurants, etc. Your 2024 candidate was MIA almost four weeks before she spoke to the press, and she had brought TT Walz with her to protect against the softballs Dana Bash was hurling at her. Does she do more than one event a day? Maybe sometimes.

I do think Trump has decided to bail on hostile environments. He may very well be tired. Legend has it that he only sleeps 4-5 hours a night. At 78, he should probably add a half-hour to that, along with some sleep gummies with magnesium and melatonin. Biden goes to bed at 8 p.m., wakes at 8 a.m., and gets a two-hour nap at noon.

You Democrats always amaze me with how easily you are controlled by the corporate media. You will always accuse a conservative of something you are already doing yourself.

You know what’s funny is the right complained about Biden’s decline for three years. When the Dems came to terms with it after the debate and got a new candidate, the right started criticizing Dems for replacing him. It’s all just a game to them.

You mean Republicans want to win the election? They saw Biden falling in the polls and they got excited? Go figure.

But hey, it could be worse. They could be doing what the Democrats are doing, conveniently saying that Biden is too senile to run for President, but not senile enough to be removed as President.

Actually, the corporate media and the democrats hid the decline for 4
plus years (basement included) and acted shocked after his debate. Your party kept a man in office who talks to dead people. His decline was so bad he asked if Rep. Jackie W. was present after dying in a tragic car accident only a month earlier. Yes, this is the guy with the nuclear codes.

I would be grateful, on behalf of Country, if the Republicans copied what Biden did and replaced Trump with a better candidate (like Haley).

We don’t know what discussions have been had. I assume Biden is mostly functional throughout the day, and there’s no serious push to deem him incapacitated as would be necessary for the 25th.

We can’t say that for Trump, we know his own cabinet actually discussed the 25th. After the election Trump effectively had a mental breakdown and stopped functioning as President. Guy had the military call and check with the Italians to see if they were changing votes to Biden. You know, cats and dogs rumors.

    715 be like;
