Since you asked....and I don't see anyone else chiming in..... There are many reasons a player leaves a particular program. I will mention just one: There are some players who want to play for teams that win. They don't expect the team they're on to win every game. But when their team consistently loses games they should win.....coupled with the other losses....and the team ends up with a losing record....that is a deal breaker. So when the subject of recruiting and transfers comes up.....programs that are consistent losers are always going to be handicapped. Ergo, the importance of winning games as it relates to retaining good players. Probably more than you asked for to answer your question.....
