And to think, we had 4nfl back on the team at one time. John L, LoHam, Neal Anderson and James Jones (JJ last year was 82 but all 4 were on the team together). 84 was my first year at UF so that team has always been a favorite. I still remember walking behind the union and opening the alligator to read that we had committed 107 (i think) violations.
Idk about that one. We haven't really given up big returns or gotten any during his tenure. The only knock on his special teams was when the two guys wearing number three thing happened. You could compare that with this year's 12 men on a field goal before half that ended up being the difference in the game.
I claim '84 and '85 to this day. That includes both SEC and National Championships. UCF, Utah and a 4 loss Bama can do it, why not us?
We have a very good return game. We didn't last year. The 12 man this weekend doesn't appear to me to be of the Ilk that we got last year. By that i mean it appears to be a screw up by a player, not she incompetence. We are much much better imo. And that's because we brought in an nfl guy to run the ST. Hiring competent coaches is important.
Precisely. Zero evidence we have progressed year to year. There’s a very good argument to be made that 2023 was worse than 2022, which was worse than Mullen’s last season. There’s a chance still of demonstrable progress this season, but there’s also a very real possibility, even a probability, that 2024 will be Napier’s worst season yet. And what does that say, considering his first was his best, and his best was worse than Mullen’s worst?
I have zero faith in Billy Napier. He's halfway into his 3rd year and hasn't won a game against a quality opponent yet.
GREAT points. Thanks for pointing that out. He still has to find a way to put games away when the opportunity is there. He can’t seem to put 2 full halves together on game day. We either dominate in the first half, only to allow the other team to catch up or overcome us in the 2nd …or, start off flat and finally get into a rhythm when it’s too late.
Been saying all year I think Dike is a special player. Haven’t seen a return guy look so good in forever. He’s got the speed and vision to be a real weapon.
Kentucky will play physical, that's for sure. If our guys counter them on their heels, that will be a bad recipe for injuries. If they fight hard on the lines, we will have a chance.
