Reading the tea leaves a little here, but I’m starting to wonder “IF” Billy goes 6-6 he might be retained.

 

I just don’t go when they are bad. I was suffering at the Miami game though. I wanted my mommy. I’ll try again next year.

He’s already set for life if he doesn’t want to work anymore. He can go down a level and make a couple million a year and work himself back up if he wants to still compete.

 

I didn't equate his post to "sympathy." There is a narrative here that he doesn't care and is taking the money and running and that's just not the case as pointed out by his post. Pitchforks gonna pitchfork though I guess.

 

If we were number one and lost to Vandy I would lose my shit for a couple days. I was over my disappointment before the end of the Miami game though because it wasn’t all that surprising. I was there so I did have hope for this year but it was quickly crushed and I’ll be back next year. This year will be from my couch unless the seas are flat.

Just seeing a tone change on a lot of other forums and a lot of the pundits. It’s probably a wait and see approach, but I’m just saying I would not be surprised. Not saying it’s a choice I would make, but I ain’t making em.

 

You didn't, other posts did. He cares, and agree he isn't taking money and running either, but he certainly hasn't earned the buyout portion in any way IMO, others are free to disagree.

Finally, (this is not directed at you) fair or not, people just don't want to hear about 8 figure millionaires problems. Hell you could be an average Joe and people still don't want to hear about people being mean to you at work. Just quit then.

He has had 3 years to develop the humility he promised us ("...I won't make the same mistakes my predecessors did"), but remains incredibly, stubbornly, determinedly, arrogantly committed to the utterly vomitous, utterly offensive notion, that he's the best man for the job of OC and game management, when the slightest objective review of his track record would inform anyone not a blinded narcissist, that not only is he a far cry from being the best....he's about the worst most of us has ever seen.

Gets to live, keeps all his limbs, wife n kids, home (or It's vslue), oh, and that agonizing 28 Million dollars, ON TOP OF his regularly scheduled 7.5 million per year...

PS--one of my clients texted me a picture of his house. Under water up to his door knobs...plenty of other folks suffering too due to hurricanes, and other stuff...

But you feel sorry for a guy who can't put together a winning record with our Gators, and still getting paid more than probably 99% of the posters on this board, if not every single one of us combined...

I agree with all of that. I don't "feel bad" for anyone that doesn't have to worry about money the rest of their lives either but I don't share the venom some may have for him although I am frustrated and angry at times that he doesn't get out of his own way or learn from his mistakes.

This^. I don't get this arrogance attitude to look down on gator fans who didn't attend UF. As you said, people are just voicing their displeasure against this administration (mainly the FB HC and AD).
There are plenty of reasons why they're unhappy. Just because they didn’t attend UF doesn't mean they can't voice their opinion. This is a public forum.
I didn't go to UF because we were poor when my family moved here. My son graduated from UF, but he's not a die hard UF football fan, but I am. It doesn’t make me less of a UF fan because I don’t have the paper to hang on my wall.
As a matter of fact, I follow almost all sports UF participate in.

 

This tells anybody who cares all they need to know. Napier hadn't coached a single SEC game yet and he was already bragging about how much better he was than his predecessors. Billy Napier is a con artist.

 

This is an incorrect characterization but more importantly it's irrelevant. The question was why would anyone take Lea over Klieman?

 

I wanted DM to stay. Thought it was a mistake not trying to make him happy here. So far I've been proven correct. If this next hire fails too, then I'd say it's definite. No way even an underachieving DM in recruiting would've done this poorly.
