We need to quit pretending and get ready for the Lane Train. It is lining up well and I am hopeful he can salvage DJ. More talent on this team than the process allows, which can be rectified by a competent coaching staff. Napier is a good guy but in way over his skis...

 

Exactly... we don't have the top talent, but talent isn't the main reason why we lost 3 games so far...

 

But I just said I do. I DO care that a coach is not a toxic POS. I don't care if he is shaking hands and kissing babies. To summarize, just don't be a bad person, it's simple.

Where someone goes to school is becoming less important. There are only a few cases where candidates get an edge.

Sports absolutely drives name recognition.

Most people cannot tell you where many Ivys are located or even name half of them.

Every SEC school has higher name recognition than Rice, Carnegie, Wash U, etc.

I get it they want additional funding and they want to make money. Thats fine, but let’s call it what it is.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to be Rice. But they’d be losing a lot of passion and a lot of donors.

Would you hire Napier as HC? No

As OC? No

As QB coach? No

Anything D? No

Special teams? No

Recruiting? Maybe…


Muschamp clearly would be hired any D spot

Mullen clearly would be hired at any O spot or even HC

Mac would be hired as QB coach or maybe even OC…

Napier may literally be so toxic that he may be a QB coach at a G5 school.
