Just to be clear, It is true that FEMA had to evacuate staff on based threats… it appears those threats were not credible.

I just spent a week in Western NC. It has cleaned up nicely. No one is struggling for basics of water and food like its some kind of third world. The big deal is rebuilding the things that water damaged: houses, storefronts, some washed out roads and bridges. I-40 being down is a bitch. Of course, uninsured people are out of their physical stuff sadly. Power hit the last areas in Asheville today. There is a lot of support out here. I was in Hot Springs, Asheville, Marshall, and Weaverville this weekend.

Right wing morons being trolled by bad actors on twitter and other social media is out of control. Most of those dire updates are coming from people nowhere near us.

I'll believe that from a credible source and not until before.

I just keep thinking about the incredible amount of food, diapers, baby formula, and bottles of water that will be going to the dump. There's gotta be more diapers per capita in North Carolina than the rest of United States combined.

Why? Diapers don't have an expiration date. If they have more than they need right now, they can still be used later or donated elsewhere.

Not too far off. I saw so much stacked outside buildings. I assume they will use for homeless and shelters in the future.

The threats were credible, the arrested guy had an assault rifle and handgun.

"Out of an abundance of caution, FEMA said its disaster assistance teams will be stationed at fixed locations instead of going door-to-door, which has been the agency's common practice in the past."

Actually it's not a correction. What was reported was armed militias hunting FEMA. This was 1 person. Hope this person is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Asking because I genuinely don't know .... Do FEMA personnel used marked vehicles and clothing that would allow them to be recognized as FEMA? I ask because I spoke to my brother last Friday (he works in Rutherford County, one of the hardest hit areas) and he said he hadn't seen any evidence of them up to that point. I assume they've been in the area and he just hasn't seen them.

    Respectfully, I must somewhat disagree.

This bull$hit is on anyone willing to cast a vote for anyone running for any office in this country as a Republican.

For almost four years, we've seen that political party criminal organization make excuses for, lie about, and try to normalize Trump's injection of violence into the political process. Anyone affiliated with that organization is tacitly agreeing with this violence and sanctioning it - if not actively encouraging it. Anyone voting for an organization that sanctions this violence is also supporting it.

A little more detail on the armed militia aspect of story ...

US Forest Service official sent out a message warning that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) “has advised all federal responders Rutherford County, NC, to stand down and evacuate the county immediately”.

The message said that soldiers with the national guard “had come across x2 trucks of armed militia saying there were out hunting FEMA”.

Not ready to call that hoax yet if it originated from the national guard unit who saw and heard it first hand ... at first I thought it was probably just an internet hoax... doesn't seem to be the case.

Did they announce they are satisfied with their one arrest and will stop investigating and/or searching for additional suspects?
