Pure class and grace, no surprise. Really feel bad for him. https://247sports.com/college/flori...statement-on-seasonending-torn-acl-237993174/
With Mertz and Johnson our offense was brutal against UK last year. Mertz’s weaknesses are overly exposed vs the defense Stoops runs. Maybe Lagways skills (experience aside) will help our offense some. Doubt it will hurt.
We really have to hope that he can finish out the season. We may have a chance to win with him a game or two more. I’m hoping so especially against Florida State if they get rid of Billy now the kids are going to just quit. You know they’re gonna quit, so I’m hoping for the best I love the guy but it’s just tough. He’s a guy I want representing our program but it’s not gonna work out for me. Is it?
Lagway has a tough slate coming up. Hopefully everyone backs him up Saturday. He needs a win for confidence before facing some brutal defenses.
yea i think we break the streak against them this year. Kentucky is bad as well, don’t care if they kept it competitive against UGA either.
Is this based on talent alone or does it include coaching? I need to deduct a few points for stupid play calls, clock mismanagement, wasted time outs and illegal substitutions. Other than that I like our chances.
We have progressed year to year, and game to game this year. We need to prove that by beating Kentucky. I hope the fans are fired up and can contribute to our victory.
I think our run defense is much better than the last 2 years and our OL can get it done if Napier would just challenge them to go get it and feature them and our stud group of backs. And for the love of God please cut down on the presnap motion as it is too much for Lagway to handle. We don't need most of it...just line up and run it hard every play right at them...and we will win.
To break the monotony of "every damn post takes a shot at the coaches"...I'm optimistic for this weekend. If you would have told me we'd lose QB1 and RB1, in Knoxville, and get to OT...I'd have said that was hopium. UK might over-perform. But I'm thinking we're better than this board thinks and we win.
Lagway will look out of this world. Our LB will be salty. Our secondary will look serviceable. And we will lose by 2 touchdowns. That is Napier v. Stoops.
and play with some pace/tempo. You have headset communication now, why are we seemingly always snapping it so late in the play clock??? We never try and put the defense on their heels
Still think we win if we go for 2. They were gassed we were fired up. Don't think they stop langway on a sweep either keep it or toss a pass to TE. I know off topic but it still hurts it was ours to win
Hope we can keep Lagway injury free. Kentucky injured Tebow (before Stoops), Franks broke his leg and then Kash Daniel attempted to twist Kyle Trask’s foot off after a play the following year. Both those during Stoops tenure. Call it coincidence, dirty play, or anything you like but our QBs have had misfortune against Kentucky and if Lagway gets injured we could be in a bind.
Guys I haven't read it but do we have injuries at the right offensive tackle spot? I know I saw way too much #70 playing there during crunch time vs UTn. It was a sight I hoped to never see again after last season. The matadore ole' block, I will whiff- somehow completely missing a 300 lb opponent every single play.
