Not diminishing Texas at all. The only ranked #7 I stated was meant as tongue in cheek. Of course, they're an elite team, just like the Gators would be IF we had all of our playersx healthy and playing at 100%. Injuries have wreaked havoc on us. I understand and know everything you stated. But Texas had to replace a lot of their players from last year's national title team and are still growing and learning how to play together. They've actually tried 3 different alignments this year trying to figure out which works best for this group.
It's not Stucky....it's the poor passing that pretty much dictates where the ball goes. 6 serving errors in just the first set doesn't leave any room for error. . Outside hitters facing bigger opponents. This will be the same vs any of the top 10. IF we could get more 2 and 3 passes stucky would be just fine. In fact no setter can set full system when you are drawn into that 3 zone along the net. I have seen all the teams on TV but seeing Texas in person, there was a definite size and different build about them. Also their losses were early and probably getting their new faces in sync but physically we are no match for them. UK had dominant outsides and they played well. Texas just looks different in live action. Lee needs to be first of the bench in this subbing the OH system we have adopted. I believe she should be libero next season but others have mentioned the favorite game that is played in Gainesville so it will probably be canaan. We started this game knowing the matchups were not in our favor. We used 3 different starting rotations and none of those were the one we normally do. We kept adjusting to texas to gain an edge but texas didn't care, they did what they do best in the rotations they normally use. If essix can come back that would impact our inconsistent blocking and maybe if we use Lee a bit more as a DS when we have these passing issues early, rather than wait till set 2 or 3 and 20 points in, we could get more balance. The big problem that really can't be fixed is the mismatch at OH. I like seeing us try to get Harden in the game but why wait so long? Also, that sub makes serve receive even more difficult. We are in a pickle. They can still do damage the rest of the year and depending upon the seed draw could have a good post season, but a match up with the likes of texas, pitt, Nebraska, Wisconsin etc with all that size is going to be quite literally a tall order. Hopefully that matchup doesn't show early in the post season.
I gotcha, and I agree. I am just being patient with the team this season and hoping they get healthy and round into form just in time for the post season. Time will tell. It sure does suck to have a great team and so many of them nursing injuries.
I still think this team is going to Louisville. Excellent crowd, but nowhere remotely close to the 9,000 number they posted (which would equate to a roughly 91% capacity crowd). Technology should make it very easy for them to post the number of people that walked through the gates to attend. Not sure who finds the "tickets sold" approach to "attendance" useful. FLORIDA led 21-14 in that first set. Things came unglued after that. Texas would outscore us 61-34 the rest of the way. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Do any of you insiders (cough, cough...... scrappygator) know when the Mississippi State game will be re-scheduled? ================= The University of Florida will close its offices and cancel classes, including online classes, beginning at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 and continuing through Thursday, Oct. 10. UF will continue to monitor and update all on expected impacts or operational changes as information becomes available.

Having to play a much improved Oklahoma team (OK coach finally got his stud player from his former school to transfer via the portal) on the road and then UK and Texas as our first three SEC opponents with our best players coming off injuries without much practice together is really tough. I was hoping for winning one of the two against UK and Texas but it didn't happen. Still a long season.
Dave Boos is doing a chalk talk at 5:45 in the Center Court Room for Gator Attack Club members. You can come in through the Administration Door starting at 5:30. Wear your lanyard for admission.
Known volleyball powerhouse Pittsburgh. Probably another team with nowhere near the historical success as UF that will win a title before us.
Bre Kelley transferred to Pitt. Her boyfriend Donovan McMillon plays football there after tranferring from the Gators.
South Carolina came into today's match in Gainesville 9-5, 0-3 in the SEC and they're kicking our tails. Up 2-0 and ahead 19-13 in set 3. Ugly.
