That couldn't happen. I have an 8 foot high block wall enclosing around my property with an electronic gate and the garage as the only 2 points of entry from outside the wall. The entire back and side yards where this took place are also screened in by one very large enclosure. It flew in there from the storm, zero question in my mind.

It would have been perfect placement except Melvin lost the keys to the panel.

fwiw, CA sent 354 first responders to help out. Please remember that if CA needs help from Florida someday.

Funny how it can vary, my home weather station got about 12” since 0000 Wednesday (36 hours).
We had a 73 mph gust but my unit is on the backside of the house (but elevated about 15 above my balcony).

Thanks hans. Not sure about wind damage, but surge staying down was huge. We left that place like we might never return. And of course most important is that the family and cat are safe.

Location picked by DeSantis. Said it would take 115 mph. Storm max winds were ??? in St Pete. All people had already been moved. Has stadium ever been used like this before?

Beautiful day in SW Fl. Lost power after storm at 7 this morning, back on by noon. Still no cell signal but have wifi. Boo ATT.
Surprised at number of linemen and tree trimmers in the area. Bodes well for resources elsewhere or some of these may be able to be moved. Bonita didn't get it bad at all. Surge to 6 NAVD +/-. Naples had it even better. Stay safe out there.

I don’t believe I posted in that thread.

I do believe there is government aid in the mountains but some are not receiving it due to the extent of the devastation and how small and difficult to get to some of these towns are.

The best lies from both political parties have an ounce of truth to them. Make no mistake, they both lie and cheat for power.

We need adults running this country again and I do not believe that is either candidate this time around. Scrap the top two and have their mates run, those two seemed like adults.

In the meantime, neighbors need to help neighbors and not get so sensitive when we have different opinions.

After I posted that, I looked you up, and see that you aren't a regular poster here on Too Hot. Smart guy... this place is bad for your soul.

Like I said, I agree, these disasters are no place for folks to be playing politics.

Glad you didn't buy that house, and that you and yours are all ok.

I lurk but posting here is almost pointless! I appreciate your willingness to have a civil conversation though. Rare thing.

There was a black dot that kept floating up and down straight out from the camera. At first, I thought it might be a dog trying to swim, but then I expanded as much as I could on my phone and think it was just debris.
