They’re actually very good at the business of predicting hurricanes - and even tornadoes. It’s been over 2 weeks ago that they were pointing to a disorganized system down below the Yucatán telling people to keep an eye on it. And they were predicting a Florida hit even then.

While some terrible things happened inside the Superdome, this is not really what dislocated the Saints in 2005 to San Antonio and LSU. As Tilly mentioned above, the roof took major damage and had to be repaired before the Saints could return, which had nothing to do with the evacuees staying there. For a time, the roof damage was thought to be unrepairable, and the Saints' owner had talks with San Antonio about relocating there if the Superdome couldn't be salvaged. Ultimately the Superdome was repaired and renovated in time for the following season.

Also... minor nitpick, but Silverdome was in Detroit ;)

Funny - of course you’re right. Thanks for the catch. I saw Pink Floyd and McCartney at the Silverdome back in the late 80s

So where are the Rays gong to play now? Maybe they should just leave the roof off and plant some grass in place of the carpet and they would be good to go.

Its a new FieldTurf field. Just installed this past season. They could play on it as is. I would guess insurance will have a new roof on before opening day (it is just teflon fabric) I imagine and the large electronics are probably ok. My guess is the screens are the same ones used for outdoor venues and can handle water.

Providing the bones are good on the roof, the fix will likely be simpler than the dramatic footage looks.

My guess is worst case they play over on Dale Mabry and work it out with Steinbrenner field for a while and than back to The Trop until 2028.
