Are those cots on the field? I’m not sure what I’m seeing but there’s some kind of “grid” on the grass area.

Duke energy was using the Trop as a staging area. Maybe?

Not sure, I think some of that may be the interior parts of the roof itself.

In any event, according to the NYT/Athletic article, both the state and a Rays spokesman have confirmed that there were no responders or electrical workers in the stadium last night and the limited crew of essential stadium personnel who were in the facility last night are all safe and accounted for.

I saw a video of the stadium getting hit by the storm. Once the roof was pierced the wind got underneath it and just tore it apart. With all of the flying debris it is easy to imagine how that could have happened.

A lot of people are asking the same question. We experienced it as well. Was told there are devices that make a predetermined number of attempts to reclose the circuit somehow but I don't know how that works. Maybe it is a different kind of fuse/cutout that self recloses. I don't know

Does anyone who's been watching Ryan Hall Y'all know anything about the bot he has been using on his stream to ask questions and ask pronounce the names of various places? It speaks back and forth in a very conversational way. I questioned whether it was even real at first or an icon with a human voice behind it. Seems very impressive if it's real and more advanced than Siri or Alexa, for example. Someone asked him about it and he said he created it, but I couldn't tell if he was kidding.

Look up smart grid technology. If it’s where you live it could explain this.

Yeah, my father in law lost power for 5 minutes at the height of the storm, but it came back on, which surprised me. I wonder if they can reroute remotely by computer or something.

We have underground lines fed by above ground transmission lines. Not sure if what you describe is possible but it seems plausible in theory so maybe.

Yeah we've got some self resetting fuses in some of our garbage trucks. I honestly hate them because it makes it pretty hard to track down electrical issues sometimes. For a transformer fuse to reset whatever causes the issue would have had to been fixed, which is why maybe whatever was on the wire blew off or something. But I think some kind of smart grid seems more likely.

FTR a neighbor was just telling me something about a self resetting device FPL started using and how linemen hate them because they always need maintenance. 3rd hand info so take it for what it's worth but regardless it seems as if they are using some sort of different and updated technology because a number of people seem to be having the same experience of losing power and regaining it during a time where linemen couldn't be working on them. I'm thankful either way because I didn't think we had any chance of maintaining power given what we went through here in ormond

Well, we still have power in Jax. My house in the Orlando area doesn't have power. Will wait for power to return before I go back and see if there's any damage.

Please don’t pick and choose what you want to promote politically during a time of crises for many.

You say he didn’t take VP Harris’ call but President Biden said he spoke with Gov DeSantis and he said it was a very good conversation and the Governor was “gracious”.

Let’s use this time to support our communities and ignore what the petty politicians do and say during their air-time.

The number of people there yesterday is actually probably more people than would have been there during a game......

So I just talked to jea guy who was driving up my street. He said either a circuit breaker reset or they rerouted it from somewhere else. So pretty much exactly what we thought
