Devils advocate…recruiting is tanking due to our on field performance which combines with coaching uncertainty. IF we finished like 8-4 that includes some good wins/upsets which can, but might not, improve excitement in the program and at least some coaching stability (likely retaining Napier for another year) which could help land some recruits.

but…even if it didn’t, Napier would need to hit the portal hard anyway for some proven contributors. More important would be booster buy in for $ in the portal to surround Lagway with help to make a playoff run. Could happen I guess.

that is not what I believe will happen. In some parallel multiverse perhaps it’s possible.

 

I wasn’t counting those as the only two wins, just beating two of our biggest rivals and being 6-6 with an added bowl win to finish 7-6. Add in any one of the other. My mistake in not being more clear. The most likely scenario would obviously be a win over UK. It’s been a long damn day.

 

Hightop was spinning a picture on the podcast that we all want and hope for but is highly improbable. 8 - 9 win season.

The hole for Napier to crawl out of is deep. Would I like to see him do it? YES absolutely.

TN would be a big step in that direction, personally, even with Gator recent history and MOJO, I put our chances at 25%, and that would probably require UT to implode with turnovers and mistakes.

Many of you suggest one of the few routes to victory is to open up the playbook and unleash an air attack with our QBs, alot more DJL, and hope the receivers having a great game.

For that to happen the offensive line must give the QBs time. Interestingly UF has given up no sacks the last two games, so maybe pass protection is gelling, albeit against 2 not very impressive defensive fronts.

UF is not Arkansas defensively, we must score points and create some turnovers, and for goodness sake, keep the petal to the metal.

Anyway, we will know soon enough, I hope the team puts up a good fight.

I think UTk is overrated. Take UF to cover and it wouldn’t surprise me if we win outright.

 

The roster is a toss up, but Tenn gets 16-20 pts for reasonable coaching. Slingblade is the only reason we aren’t a ranked team annually. It’s as if our entire team has to play football wearing concrete boots made of his ineptitude.

 

I think we can win it! We are always in their heads, no matter how much better than us they think they are! Not guaranteeing a win, but it wouldn't surprise me a bit if we pulled it off. Our D is trending up and the offense looks solid. Anything is possible.

 

Los and linebackers. Our receivers will be fine either way. Hope Wilson is a go

 

In my opinion Jackson is our best back. Has not had many carries but he’s impressive. Has wiggle and a surprising burst. I think we’d all be shocked what he’d do with 15 carries.

Stop or slowdown Sampson but will take committing Safety or extra DL to the box.

Man up DB’s as they are our best players on the team and if they don’t have Squirrel White or Bru They are a very different team.

On obvious downs make sure you have an extra guy Rushing. If you hurry, this young kid, it makes a big difference

some posts out there that Barbers ankle was rolled up on during practice and could miss 2-3 weeks. Who is third string LT who will have to face projected top 10 draft pick Pearce? He is the best pass rusher we will face all year.

 

Starting wide receivers Squirrel White and Bru McCoy are both listed as probable, and starting defensive lineman Bryson Eason is not listed at all. Wide receiver Dont’e Thornton Jr. is listed as questionable and starting defensive back Christian Harrison is listed as probable.

 

That's really bad. Thornton hurts some too. Bridges has to be played full time at safety and probably always should have been.
