The Dow Jones predicts that Harris will win the election. The Dow Jones index prediction, which is based on whether the stock market goes up or down in the three months before the election, has been right 22 of the last 24 presidential elections. If the Dow goes up, the incumbent party wins. The Dow just hit a record high last Friday, and is up 12% on the year. So, republicans, if you want Trump to win, make sure to sell all of your stock market holdings as soon as possible to drag down the Dow Jones. Another nail in Trump's political coffin.

When you’ve lost the former head of the Florida Republican party, things aren’t going well.

The Trump cult isn't based on policy. It's based on fearmongering it's based on appealing to our lower interests... You can't join a bandwagon that's based on separating our country."

I can never remember dictators wanting to be fact checked. They usually like to freely lie without consequence, so this lines up.

What makes us so sadly living in bizarro world is the fact that MAGA gets angry when there’s fact checking—how DARE you insert fact into a conversation?!?! Seriously, can anyone tell me any other time in our history when people objected to facts over rhetoric?!?!?!

this building is headed for bankruptcy

'Tough spot': Investigation finds Trump's 'prized possession' sinking in massive debt (msn.com)

A beloved building belonging to former President Donald Trump appears to be drowning in debt as problematic financial deadlines loom, according to a new financial analysis.

Trump's 63-story high rise at 40 Wall St. in New York City is currently worth $2 million less than the $118 million Trump owes on his $160 million mortgage — and its income continues to plummet, according to a recent Forbes report.

"The building is simply not earning enough money to cover the loan," Forbes reported. "Adding to the headaches: Trump, who doesn’t own the land on which the building sits, has just nine years left until his ground rent escalates dramatically."

Trump, with $566 million of legal liabilities and just $413 million in cash, will reportedly have to pay his $118 million debt to Ladder Capital by July. But the building's operating income has nearly halved from about $21 million in 2018 to $12.8 million in 2023, according to Forbes.

just another indictment waiting to happen. do ex presidents have some special set aside to avoid the logan act

Susan Rice: Trump’s reported calls with Putin appear illegal (msn.com)

Former White House adviser and United Nations ambassador Susan Rice called out former President Trump over a report that he has spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin at least seven times since leaving office, suggesting such calls would violate the Logan Act.

The law, which makes it illegal for American citizens to negotiate with foreign governments in dispute with the United States without prior approval, was introduced in 1799 and is meant to prevent unauthorized diplomacy from undermining the current administration’s position.
    ....................................
“This would seem to be a violation of the Logan Act. Exactly what Trump falsely accused John Kerry of. Another apparent Trump crime,” Rice wrote Tuesday on the social platform X.

Rice was referring to Trump’s public pressure campaign to prosecute Kerry, a former secretary of state, over private meetings with Iranian officials during the Trump administration to urge Tehran to stay in the Iran Nuclear Deal, brokered by the Obama administration. Trump later pulled the U.S. from the agreement.

Trump apparently helped out his best friend Vlad Putin by sending him Covid test machines/kits during a time when few Americans had them. Looking out for his boss. Good to see where his priorities are. "American people or Russian dictator? I think I'll help the dictator, and let the American people die."

Poll of America's independents indicates that Harris is winning their vote 73% - 21%, with 6% undecided or "other".

Harris takes her first lead in the New York Times / Sienna College poll, with a 49-46% lead.

Harris takes slim lead over Trump in new poll as voters view her as candidate of change

Trump goes to the senile nonsense well one time too many. His speech in Detroit was a nonsense-filled, rambling stream of idiocy. The main theme? Circles. Beautiful circles. Biden circles. Rocket ships. The word "grocery".

Our nations most ignorant president concluded the presentation with a remarkably clear indication of the problem: "Our biggest threat to democracy is stupid people." No self-awareness was on display in Detroit.

Trump hasn't figured out the simple political procedure for giving a campaign speech in a city.

Step 1: Compliment the city where you are speaking. Do NOT insult it. Even if that city is Detroit.

Step 2: See Step 1. No, they do not want "the truth". At least, not your version of it.

Fortunately, he wandered off-topic with attacks on electrical vehicles and discussion about people leaving his rallies, and that causing the U.S. to be the closest it has ever been to World War III. Otherwise, people would think he was losing it.

Trump slams Detroit during speech at economic club on Thursday

Detroit's leaders responded with supportive statements like: "Detroit threw Trump out of the White House last time and we'll do it again."

Mission accomplished, Mr. Trump. Mission accomplished.

Also, at the Detroit press conference, Trump was asked about his kids. A nice, softball question. No need to give an insane answer. He started out on-topic, then he started rambling about drug use and wanting to see the death penalty used for drug-related crimes. Is he trying to tell us something about his kids? Or is his brain that scrambled?

Trump was asked about raising his kids. He went on an eight-minute rant calling for the death penalty

Sadly, the Logan Act is toothless in terms of penalties and enforcement.

Detroit is also in the midst of an incredible revitalization effort that is rarely seen in our lifetimes and should be highlighted as an example of what's possible with the right focus and resources.
